This summer, MAC wants you keep it casual (at least for this launch!) with Casual Colour; a collection of eight limited edition creamy dual pots of wonder and accompanying effortless counterparts.
We got to check out three of the shades…
Keep It Casual – warm plummy red
Keep It Casual, Lazy Sunday, Out For Fun
First things first, are you singing this? I am!
If you’re a fan of MAC’s Cream Colour Base, all signs point to you liking these too…you’d think. But honestly, I like the former better. I think Cream Colour Base is creamier and blends better. Casual Colour feels like it kind of sits of the top of my skin. It also has a bit of shine to it so I didn’t find it blended very well into my cheeks.
On the other hand, it blends into your lips really well. So well that you almost lose the color. And the shine on your cheeks is not there on your lips (seriously, where did it go?) With the right shade match, this really could be a “your lips but better” sort of natural product that I know some people really love. But I personally prefer a lip product to make more of a statement.
Sorry, I guess I’m not a casual kind of girl…

Like @Stef, I am not a fan of shine on my cheeks as I am already and oil slick as it is!
I could use these Casual Color pots as a natural lip color, although it seems I would need to pump them up via lipliner!?
The colors are very pretty- I will check them out!
I am a total casual makeup girl and I have the feeling I will really like these little pots. I’m a combo to oily skinned girl, but normally do not have a problem with cream products on my cheeks, so I think I can get double duty of of these. Out for Fun looks fab – I’m dying to get in on the coral trend and this subtle hue looks like my entry.
I’m not a fan of cream blush, and definitely not a fan of shiny cheeks (on me). I’m interested in these as a lip product, but I prefer lip products in a tube or with a wand.
Out for Fun is totally my favorite of the three here! I kind of wish these were lip conditioners :) Love those too.
I love cream blush and especially one that I can wear on lips and cheeks. I got to try out the Lazy Sunday shade, the palest and coolest toned pink I’ve ever seen. I’m paler than pale and this was a little too pale even for me. I could make it work on my cheeks, but it was so pale and so opaque on my lips that my makeup looked costume-y. I can’t do pale lips anyways b/c I look like a corpse without darker lips, so there is that, but the paleness of the shade/opaqueness would make this difficult for most people. I think if there was a hint of shimmer, that might have made this a more universal shade. That being said, the formula is just right for this cream blush lover–it blends well and doesn’t feel too heavy. I think the darker shades would be amazing for lips and cheeks. I may kill to own the Keep It Casual shade *swoons*. :)
