MAC Indulge…don’t mind if I do!

MAC Indulge

The Indulge launch does exactly what it sets out to do; create a sumptuous feast of color that can’t be ignored. It’s a rich palette; heavy on berry, nude and gold, with random pops of gorgeous color like chartreuse and teal. It’s got me written all over it! Does it speak to you too? Quickly check it out in store (because, of course, it is mostly sold out online.)

MAC Rebel nail lacquer

The nail lacquers are gorgeous. We got to check out two that fall right in theme. Sinfully Sweet is a metallic explosion of white and yellow gold glitter in varying sizes. It has a foiled look to it and really strong coverage. And Rebel is a rich, dark and creamy plum berry. (these are both still online too, so hooray for that.)

MAC Liquer lipglass

Continuing on the berry tip (and why not, it’s the lip color for fall 2013) we got to swatch some beautiful lipglass and lipstick.

MAC Lust For Life lipglass

Let’s start with lipglass, says the lipgloss junkie! From left:
Utterly Tart – deep red berry creme
Lust for Life – shimmery dark plum berry
Liqueur – metallic pinky brown with a swirl of warm shimmer

MAC Utterly tart lipglass

I’ll be honest, I don’t see a huge difference between Tart and Lust. If you want a creme, hunt down Tart. And if shimmer is your thing, go for Lust. Both are beautiful.

Liqueur really grew on me. The first time I ever tried it was in the Cult of Cherry launch. And anything that wasn’t red just got ignored by me! And now again, it’s going up against these powerful berries shades of the Indulge launch. But I’m not denying Liqueur this time – it’s a beauty that’s fabulous with a dramatic eye.

MAC Sweet Succulence lipstick

And we checked out these lipsticks:
By Design – shimmery peachy beige (frost)
Smash Hit – an explosion of magenta and white gold glitter (dazzle lipstick)
Sweet Succulence – dark and vampy sheered wine (lustre)

MAC eat love eye shadow

Now, let’s move into the eye portion of this feast. We got a closer look at three eye shadows:

MAC eat love eye shadow

Eat, Love – blackened emerald with emerald micro glitter (satin)

MAC gilty morsel eye shadow

Gilty Morsel – glittery pale gold (lustre)

MAC three ring yellow eye shadow

Three Ring Yellow – bright golden chartreuse (veluxe pearl)

The big winners for me are Eat, Love and Three Ring Yellow, which look absolutely amazing together. I am a chartreuse fanatic, and the yellow added to the Three Ring Yellow interpretation takes it a beautiful step farther. I’d normally consider this a warm weather shade, but as I’ve been wearing nearly every day since it arrived, I’ve discovered it looks divine with grey, brown, purple and the blackened emerald that is Eat, Love. Both shades have fabulous pigment and a smooth texture.

Gilty Morsel was a bit of a letdown. The texture is very stiff and the glitter is pretty gritty. MAC has so many beautiful gold options that I’d suggest a pass on this one.

MAC Gilt Gourmet fluidline

Speaking of gold, Gilt Gourmet fluidline is about as gold as you can get, we’re talking molten, glittery gold. Plus, it has that wonderful creamy texture fluidlines are famous for. This looks amazing as an accent applied directly above a dark liner.

MAC tease your tastes cremeblend blush

Finally, what do you top off all these nudes, golds and berries with? A gorgeous pink nude blush, that’s what! And it’s exactly what the cremeblend blush Tease your Tastes is, a warm medium brownish pink. I love the texture of cremeblend; creamy, natural and buildable. I haven’t used another blush since this one arrived!

Blush junkies – this is still online, RUN!

  1. oooooh, la la! Those are some mighty fine swatches @stef! I think your picture taking skills makes MAC shine.. They really look better than any others out there that I’ve seen.. Well done! I will be stopping in the closest MAC store this weekend Ms. Lip-gloss junkie! Great review AS ALWAYS!

  2. Oohh la la is right! By Design and Tease Your Tastes are calling my name! I always gravitate towards the deep wines in the fall, so these nude peachy tones would be a nice change for me!

  3. The eyeshadows, Fluidline and blush are pretty! You know I’m a sucker for limited edition Fluidlines…

  4. I really need Lust for Life!!!! I just die for berry plums. This lip glass looks gorgeous and perfect for autumn. I am going to be super sad if I can’t get my hands on this moody beauty!

  5. Of course the cream blush in Tease your Tastes is on my radar now. I have an addiction :/ lol

  6. This collection is so cool. might be too cool for me because of the splash of green which I LOVE in theory but not sure if it’s something i can rock. I’m a big YES for all those berry lip products. swoon!

  7. Beautiful collection! If had I had pick one thing, it would be By Design. I can picture myself wearing it a LOT.

  8. Yay, got to test By Design, which I was eyeing and it’s gorgeous! A beautiful peachy beige, it gets great coverage, and is a welcome new color to my fall palette!

  9. I got to test out Lust for Life–this gloss is gorgeous and easily will transcend from fall and winter and go easily into spring and summer. This reads as a bold fuchsia on me–it looks killer on my pale skin and against my dark hair. I can’t really read any shimmer from this once on, though. What’s nice about this is as it wears off, it wears into a subtle stain, so I’m never left without some color on my lips. This lip glass is a stunner! Love!

  10. I have the Sweet Succulence lip color and vampy is the perfect way to describe it! It goes on nicely and is a very deep shade, which takes a little getting used to. However, dark lips are in for fall and I can totally get on board.
