As I’ve mentioned previously, I’m going to Iceland in March with Wow Airlines. (A LOT of people are going right now actually, check out their crazy affordable deals.) So while I’m doing all my thorough/obsessive research about what to do while I’m there, I’m also trying to figure out what to wear while I’m there. Because, duh.
Temps in March range right around OMG it’s cold, and as a California desert dweller who gets chilly when it’s 70° I have come to one conclusion: I have nothing to wear.
Luckily Shopbop has a fabulous selection of must have winter accessories and clothing. These are the items on my shopping list…
1. I have wanted a pair of Sorel boots for-EVER. But my sunshine-filled days didn’t really lend itself to them. But now’s my chance to pick up these Sorel Caribou Boots (on sale for $112).
2. If the Caribou Boots are for snowy adventures, the Sorel Conquest Wedge Booties (on sale for $206) could be for sightseeing in Reykjavik! Wht team member Krista tells me high heel boots are not needed, but I’m choosing to ignore her.
Side note: To put in these boots? Fleece Lined Socks ($22). How could I not buy these? (And why aren’t all socks fleece lined?)
3. This Penfield Rockford Plaid Yoke Down Jacket ($235) will not keep my bum warm, so I should probably choose one of the long down coats they sell. But Buffalo Plaid gets me every time. EVERY TIME.
4. It’s a splurge, but I have always wanted a Cashmere Travel Wrap ($298). I can wear it as a scarf or I can snuggle with it on the plane. And plus, can I really call myself an editor if I don’t have a Cashmere Travel Wrap?
5. I can’t resist these Agnelle Eva Gloves (on sale for $67.50) They’re pretty much Uggs for your hands. But, SPARKLE Uggs for your hands!
6. Finally, although I have approximately 15 pairs of glasses within 5 feet from where I am typing, I need a new pair of sunglasses because I will not be a victim of snow blindness Do you hear me? I won’t! These Le Specs Caliente Sunglasses ($79) will help. And can you even stand that clear rim?!
That’s it! I’ll get some long underwear and away I go. Oh, and maybe pants…
we heartsters (especially those with cold weather experience) what am I missing for my trip? Let me know if the comments!
Stef is many things. Amongst them: editor-in-chief of we heart this, photographer, condiment connoisseur, Philly girl in the California desert, borderline hoarder and a hardcore beauty junkie.

favorite beauty product: high end skincare and lip products
SO excited you are going to Iceland–if you see Bjork, make sure you say hi! My biggest tip would definitely be the fleece-lined socks; if your feet are cozy, the rest of you will be too. And I fully support those Sorel Conquest Wedge Booties; you basically can’t NOT get them.
Girl, you are going to break an ankle if there’s ice! I will do the “I told you so” dance if it happens. Remember you once broke BOTH elbows! lol Totally get the booties, but save them for a trip that will involve less ice/snow :)
I vote for the wedge boots while sitting in a cozy lodgey place drinking whiskey. I heard Floki (something like that) is a great single malt!
@stef I have a couple pairs of Sorel boots and LOVE them! And I am right with you on the buffalo plaid, it gets me EVERY time too… I love that jacket!!!! I think you should get some fun hand warmers to put in pockets? And one of those “love your melon” hats that support cancer ? They are cute and for a good cause!
Digging those Sorel Caribou Boots! They will come in handy as you sit and drink! That will help your brian to tell your cold body you’re warm when you’re not!
