Finally, an oil that even fine haired ladies will love
I have a love/ hate relationship with hair oils. I absolutely love the idea, but they often turn my fine hair into an oil slick. Most oils are way too heavy for my fine locks, and I end up looking as if I haven’t showered in weeks. I am usually forced to apply a microscopic dot of oil to the very ends of my hair, which really doesn’t do much for the styling or health of my hair. I have found there is a very fine line between sleek, shiny hair and looking like a cast member of Survivor!
I was cautiously optimistic to try Laurent D’s Prive Vanishing Oil. The oil contains a blend of Argan, Maracuja and Brazil nut oils which claim to ‘vanish’ into the hair creating shine, smoothness and hydration without weighing the hair down. (Hmmm, this would be a first!)
This product is a “hybrid conditioning, styling and finishing product” differentiating it from other hair oils on the market. The very popular Argan and Maracuja oils are very effective at repairing dry and damaged hair and are packed with anti-oxidants, vitamin C and carotenes. They offer increased elasticity, hydration and promote healthy growth from the inside out. Brazil Nut Oil is known for its lightweight texture. The oil is omega-6 rich, and contains selenium, which is a powerful anti-oxidant known for encouraging hair growth.
I figured I would give this a go on the weekend, expecting a grease-fest, and necessary post oil re-wash. I washed my hair and ran some through my damp strands, and let it air dry. The result was a shiny and soft hair that was not weighed down at all. It did not even feel as if I had oil in my hair. I concur with the ‘vanishing’ product name! I even felt as if my scalp had benefitted from the hydration of the oils. My hair appeared healthier – flyaways were smoothed, split ends seemed less visible.
I am hooked on this oil and will be using it even more when the fall comes and my hair isn’t already fighting the humidity battle (it’s 100 degrees and 97% humidity in Baltimore as I write this review.) The 4.2oz bottle is pricy at $36 and only available in elite salons and spas, but well worth the effort. Luckily, you can also purchase it online at the Prive site.
As a fine-haired girl, I am thrilled to have found a nourishing hair oil that I can use without looking like I just got out of the pool! And I think ladies of all hair types will enjoy the sleek, shiny hair Prive Vanishing Oil produces.

I’m in the same boat with hair oils. My ends get dry and I have a good amount of fly-aways and frizz that could benefit from oils, but it is very hit or miss when I can find one that doesn’t weigh down my hair. This one looks like a winner.
I often use Moroccan oil on my ends to help make them a little less dry, so I was excited to try this one. It smells great and goes on cleanly without too much residue. I’m still hesitant to use it all over my head, but this review inspired me to give it a shot!
I usually have to be very careful with hair oils because I too have fine hair! I’ll definitely be looking into this product.
Hello! I was excited to try another product by Laurent D’s Prive, since I fell hard for the finishing texture spray (no.89), the stuff is awesome!
So, was this also a winner? YES, it is! I really like Prive Vanishing Oil. For starters not all oil is created equal and I feel I’m up on the oils out there! You see, I have a real love for healthy oils such as Argan and Maracuja and Brazil Nut oil. They are super good for us and that equals I want them! This is rich in omega-6 and contains selenium. That’s enough to sell me on it. But this is a powerful anti-oxidant for my hair and scalp! I think this smells wonderful too.. Most do not! I used this on wet and dry hair.. My hair is on the dry side so it really drinks this up fast.. I like the results and am happy with the added shine and smoothness it provides without making me look like a hot mess! If you have dry frizzy hair, this product is for you. I also like the lovely packaging.. Super cool!
Ha, I’ve had to do that same post-oil re-wash more than once! Glad to hear this isn’t an issue with Prive Vanishing Oil. Sounds like a winner, @glamazon56 !
Hair oils are so hit and miss for me! Being naturally curly my hair really has the potential to benefit from the extra moisture but I am also very oily!! So I worry about looking like a grease ball too! Great review @glamazon56 ! It sounds like this oil could really work for me. Yay!!
