photos: we heart this
Well, we heart this readers, it’s finally happened…for the first time in wht reviewing history, Stef and I have been forced into a joint custody agreement. And it’s all due to Saltbox, creators of some of the most stylish, durable, super roomy, lovingly detailed bags around.
You may have noticed these (not so coincidentally) very popular canvas creations in the pages of InStyle, US Weekly or People. Or perhaps the bold and colorful prints of the Saltbox line caught your eye while being carried on the arm of a Hollywood celeb or stylish friend. Mine too!
So when we received a Saltbox original to review, the Geo Carryall in kiwi, I knew it must be mine! (Ditto ~Stef) Happily, for the purpose of this review, I got to be the one to break in this lust-worthy bag. And happily for you, our readers have the chance to win their own Geo Carryall – click here for all the details!
The first thing I noticed when I slung this bright green, graphic beauty over my shoulders, was that this was a statement bag. It was one of those pieces that made me feel better, stand taller, and smile instantly. And these are the types of pieces, that always seem to get noticed. When I carried this bag, people on the street, men and women, shouted out compliments!
But beyond it’s good looks, the Geo Carryall ($140) has the the key factors and little details, that makes this bag worthy of a 5 star review (or a bitter custody battle).
Starting with a super roomy, lined interior. How roomy? The bag is stuffed with a double sets of sheets in these images! You’ll also find a large interior pocket with a zip closure and adorable pull tag.
Plus, you’ll find two exterior zip pockets on the front of the bag, to carry those must-reach-now-necessities (cell phone, pen, chocolate, etc). Oh, and the durable, heavy weight canvas is “treated to be stain and water resistant” and best of all (just like denim) this bag will soften with age, yet remain strong.
You can carry this fab bag in a number of ways – by the two white faux leather carry handles, or use the adjustable and removable shoulder strap to carry the bag on your shoulder or across the body. And if you don’t need the long strap, the antiqued silver hardware clasps makes adding and removing it a cinch.
Plus there’s no worries over spillage while you’re in motion. The top closes securely with a smoothly zipped top opening with more easy to grab canvas pulls. I could open the bag, grab what I needed and keep walking without breaking stride.
And when you’re ready to take a break, the five metal studded feet, keeps the bag off of dirty floors and steady on unstable surfaces.
To say I’m thrilled with this bag would be an understatement. The only drawback? The $140 price tag is steep. Overall, not too bad for a bag (I’ve spent more) and for one of this high quality, imo, well worth the price. Once Stef gets her hands on the Geo Carryall (we’re still hashing out the custodial agreement) I’m sure she’ll agree this is a contender for Best. Bag. Ever.

And the TITLE goes to… Saltbox!! This is so awesome on so many levels! I love this bag! I would take it everywhere. Yes- sir-ie bub, Saltbox’s Geo Carryall is FOR SURE a contender for the Best Bag Ever title. Love the green and white pattern. It reminds me of our old kitchen wallpaper back in the late 60’s at our house in NJ!
OOOOH, YES Ma’am! I totally need this bag. I love it, green is my color. And this is so sassy looking.
@Pamela Irene: did we live in the same house in NJ with that wallpaper???
Maplewood NJ.. We had lot’s of green and white there for awhile! LOL! I love the color too!
Could this Saltbox Geo Carryall be the best bag ever? YES! If I were you, @tyna , I’d be wrestling @stef to the ground over this gorgeous tote! I love the fabric. Very, very tempting!
Oh I think there may be some wrestling involved in this @turboterp – and not the sexy, foxy-boxing kind!
This bag looks great, out of my price range but awesome none the less. I like the bold pattern and the metal studs on the bottom.
I really love the little details – like the studded feet of this bag. I have a classic leather Coach tote I purchased over a decade ago for working in an office. It was my first with studs and now, I look for them in every bag. Such a nice touch!
I’m not sure I love the pattern, but I do love all of the pockets!
I am in love with this color and pattern…I REALLY love the longer strap that can be worn crossbody–I love bags like this for when I do road trips/sight-seeing b/c you can fit everything in them and don’t have to struggle to keep them up on your shoulder–they’re great for walking around. How great would this be for a day at the beach? It looks like you could totally fit a beach towel, an appropriately smutty summer read, and whatever souveniers you find in the shops nearby…totally crushing on this bag…
I bought this bag a couple of years ago and I love love LOVE it! I use it everywhere and get lots of compliments on it. It should definitely be on everyone’s must purchase list!
