Sephora Collection Outrageous Volume Mascara and Retractable Waterproof Eyeliner review, photos & swatches

Fall into Sephora’s COLOR VISION for the season’s hottest hues
My postman hates me in August. That’s when all the phonebook-sized fashion magazines start to arrive, and I start leaving little snacks and cold drinks to bribe Ron the Mailman into not resenting my fashion addictions. I look forward to these magazines and their featured fall beauty trends the way I used to look forward to back to school shopping, and this fall, Sephora is presenting my favorite trend of all: super black eye products, for drama, day or night.
Sephora makes it easy to “embrace the dark” with a range of mascaras and liners for those times when ordinary black just isn’t black enough. I tested two products from their eponymous line featured in their Blackest Blacks collection.
First, Sephora Collection’s Outrageous Volume Mascara ($15). I’m so happy I was chosen to test this particular mascara, because I might not have discovered it on my own, and boy, would I be missing out!
Outrageous Volume is giving me every single thing I’m looking for in a mascara: long, super black, precise lashes, with no smudging, flaking or clumping at all. The brush is revolutionary, but the formula is the real star here. How could a mascara be so inky black and lengthening without smudging or clumping? It removes easily, too, something I look for as a contact lens wearer.
3 things to know about Sephora Collection Outrageous Volume Mascara:
1. Just a few swipes with the mascara’s unique triple load brush (extra large with tiny plastic bristles and three blank areas) results in truly outrageous lash length and volume.
2. The formula is enriched with hyaluronic acid, recognized for its moisturizing properties.
3. Gorgeous, volumized lashes can be had by anyone, even contact lens wearers and those with sensitive eyes.
The second product I tested was Sephora Collection’s Retractable Waterproof Eyeliner in Black ($12). This liner is beyond ordinary black; it’s the most dramatic coal black with the softest, creamiest texture. Easily blendable for a smokey look, but I prefer a sharp black line for serious impact. When the tip of the liner gets worn down, no worries; you can sharpen it with the built-in sharpener.

I love getting the blackest black lashes that I can, and although I frequently use colorful eyeliner, black liner is just so classic.
@stef, you are going to not believe it.. but last week I purchased that mascara! I have not even opened it yet.. I just could not help it.. $15.00 and the ladies said it was good! :)
@stef your eyes look great! I will have to check both of these products out, especially the mascara. I am always looking for a mascara that is both moisturizing and beautiful. I love the definition of black and bold mascara but not the lash damage. It sounds like Sephora has created another dream product for me. Yay!!

As the extremely lucky tester of these two products, I’d like to say it once again: they’re fabulous, and so affordable, too! This will be my regular mascara from now on, no question, and the black liner is so nice, I need to check out the other colors, too. Perfect casual smokey eye! Drama is there but not over the top – I love it! This mascara has a very cool tube. I definitely have to try it based on your experiences on it.
That eyeliner looks amazing–so dramatic!
Mascara-wise, I really wish companies would give out more samples of mascara. I only buy mascara I can try out first because my oily lids destroy lesser mascaras and I hate wasting money. If this doesn’t smudge easily, it may make the short list of mascaras to try :)
Haha, you’re nicer to your mailman than I am to mine! (Then again, my mailman can’t seem to leave even one piece of mail without a ruined corner or ripped cover. Maybe he’ll get treats once my mail starts arriving safely…)
So really, a waterproof eyeliner that is really waterproof but removes easily?! It’s the unicorn of eyeliners! I LOVE perusing the many colors of eyeliner available at my local Sephora, and the Sephora brand is always such a fantastic bargain. I’ll definitely be adding some of the Sephora Retractable Waterproof eyeliner to my stash next time I’m in the store!

Wow, I need this. My lashes are fairly puny and need a lot of help boosting to be noticeable behind my glasses. This is my next mascara!
