I have a couple addictions I will readily admit to, and refuse to feel guilty about. One is perfume oils, especially BPAL, and my second addiction is socks.

I still remember the happy day in 2004 when my band was on tour with the amazing Rasputina. I saw a girl wearing stockings with vertical stripes (like the ones shown above right) and chased her down to find out where she had got them. She told me all about Sock Dreams, the web-store for sock addicts like myself. As soon as I could, I ordered the stockings along with O’Chevrons from their very own line – Dream Stockings. I was so excited when Niqkita, the founder of Sock Dreams agreed to answer some questions for wht. Read on to learn more about all there is to love about Sock Dreams. wht: What year did Sock Dreams start, and what fueled the fire to start it?
Niqkita: In 1999 I had an overhelming desire to do something different, start a new life/career. In 2000 I started selling socks online.

Have you always had a love of socks and stockings?
Yes, every since I was little my feet were always cold, my mom and I would seek out the best places to find neat socks.

You carry so many amazing lines, including your own. What led you to start your own line?
I started our own line because I wasn’t finding what I wanted available through suppliers; long comfy socks, Mmmm!

Do you have a favorite sock on your site?
I have a lot of favorites, but my very favorite is our O Dreamy, with the longer Super Dreamy a close second.

Are some of your socks limited edition? (that just makes us want them more ~wht
Yeah, we definitely get a fair amount of limited editions. Sometimes we know when we get it, sometimes we don’t know till we can’t get more.

Your sock garters are adorable, are those big sellers?
I think sock garters are kind of a cult favorite, people either get it or they don’t and those that do love them!

If you could only have three pairs of socks which ones would they be?
Three pairs? That a tough one…

I have total sock obsession and am officially a sock hoarder. You?
I try not to hoard socks, but it does happen. I go through my many sock shelves and boxes and thin out the ones I’ve not worn yet and give them away to friends and family.

Whats the best way to extend the life of a pair of socks or stockings that you can’t imagine life without?
I can’t imagine life without a garment bag, I have two actually. Don’t always use them, but when washing delicate socks/stockings you can get away with not hand washing a lot of stuff.

What book do you think everyone should read? I think everyone should read Kitchen Confidential because if you eat out at all you should know what really goes-on on the other side, both for your own safety and for the sanity of food service workers everywhere who work so hard to feed people. Plus it is an entertaining read.

You can have front row concert tickets to see anyone, who do you choose? I would love to see a duet with Tori Amos & Maynard James Keenan.

What’s your sign and do you fit the traits of it? I’m a triple Libra (sun, moon and rising house are all in Libra, according to my mom) and I totally do fit the traits. Always trying to see both sides and be fair. I can be horribly indecisive, but have learned to go with my gut instinct and it usually works for me.

What are 3 things you can’t live without? Love, warm toes & my camera.

What are you three make up must haves? My makeup must haves these days are Urban Decay primer potion for eyes in sin for a little sparkle, along with their 24/7 eyeliners & big fatty mascara. I don’t know how I lived without mascara for so many years.

Tell us some your guilty pleasures… My favorite guilty pleasure is Affogatto in the afternoon; gelato & espresso in a bowl; divine!
