Be still my beating heart, I think I’m in love with Candy Glow

It has long been established that I am we heart this’ resident blush whore, so you can only imagine the squeals of demented glee emanating from my house when I received Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blushicon in Candy Glow ($29). It’s like they KNOW how much I love blush…spooky!

Too Faced Sweethearts Blush

New for Spring 2013, Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush is the first flush of love in a heart-shaped pan. Made up of a trio of the loveliest shades of blush your mortal eyes will ever look upon – rose pink shimmer, soft coral pink and peachy pink – the end result is always flattering and flawless.

This generously sized hunk of blush is housed in a soft pink, heart-shaped cardboard box with gold detailing. It reminds me of a box of Valentine’s Day candy, but waaaay better. Because it contains BLUSH! Although when I finish this, I imagine tears will be involved. Much like when I finish a box of chocolates by myself, although for totally different reasons…

Too Faced is well known for being cruelty-free and this product is no different. No animals were harmed in the making of this blush, but seriously, how cute would a bunny be with rosy cheeks? Or a puppy? Think about it. *Wink, wink* (Note: I am not encouraging animal testing. I’m merely imagining the whimsical nature of a critter wearing makeup.)

Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blushicon in Candy Glow is a magical mishmash of 3 perfect shimmery shades of blush – a cotton candy pink, the most glorious coral ever, and a golden peach that helps tone the blush down into the most wearable blush that’s ever graced your cheeks.

The end result is ethereal and romantic, soft and lovely. You can apply this with a big, fluffy brush for a sugary sweet pop of color or you can swipe each shade individually – the end result is always gorgeous!

Pros:
The colors are universally flattering and nothing short of spectacular.
It’s a ginormous amount of blush that will last you a very long time.

Cons:
I’m not 100% sure, but I think this might be a limited edition. Which qualifies as a tragedy in my book.

Overall, if you love blush even 1/116th of the way I do, you should really check out this heart-shaped flush. Or if you’re afraid of blush, give this foolproof one a shot and it will make a convert out of you.

we heartsters – Has anybody else fallen in love with Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush?

Krista resides in the middle of nowhere with her bff/hubby, an obscenely big-eared dog, and a puppy that makes feral capuchins seem mellow. She has an irrational fear of ax murder, owns more than one machete for home defense/the zombie apocalypse, and goes to sleep serenaded by the sounds of the Chupagobbler, a mythical turkey beast that roams the woods around her house. She also has an obsessive love of Tom Selleck’s moustache that is, quite frankly, alarming.

  1. The swatches do look like spun sugar, or cotton candy. Beautiful! What is the wear time–does it stick around a while?

    1. This wore really well–same intensity of color as first applied for about 4 hours, then slowly fading, but still noticeable for another 4, then a hint of shimmer here and there was all that’s left. So, 8 hours total wear time is pretty good on this oily skinned gal :)
      Hope that helps!

  2. IT MUST BE FATE–I just had my cursor poised over this to buy it at Sephora and thought I’d give myself another day to think about it. Surely this is a sign that this should belong to me, right? Well, right?! The colors are so feminine, so springy, so lovely! @Krista, sold. It looks gorgeous on your arm–I can just imagine what it does for your face. I’m going back to the site to purchase. Very nice review!

    1. @gigi – That’s actually Stef’s arm with the swatch on it. She lives in the desert and has a tan that my skin will never know. I live in New England and avoid the sun like a mole person or a CHUD. Like, my skin tone is essentially the white backdrop of this page. Okay, maybe not quite that pale, but I’m PALE. That being said, this blush had more impact on my face due to the paleness. It’s a gorgeous blush and definitely worthy :)

    2. @krista, that’s even more helpful. I avoid the sun as well. When I shop for concealers and foundation, I search for the shade “ghost.” Since Sephora’s having a 15% off sale until tomorrow, this is definitely going in my virtual cart. Thanks for letting me know this! (I’m still laughing about your comment regarding zombies chewing on your cold bones, but I can’t find it!).

    3. @gigi – You’ll definitely love this–be sure to use a nice, fluffy brush to apply it. It’s quite magical :)

  3. The color is gorgeous. LOVE the packaging too.

  4. Love this! Who wouldn’t want a heart shaped box of blush, especially since those colors looks so pretty. I’m glad to hear it has some staying power.

  5. @Krista — First off, it is not good to call yourself or anyone else names! Second, I am in love with the packaging in this. If you were looking for one “universal” blush for a go to — this has got to be at the top of the list!

    1. I’m just calling it like it is–I really am a whore for blush. I am a promiscuous blush user–I love many and I love often. Blush is my weakness :)

  6. What a fab concept…the perfect color for anyone, anytime of year! Love it! Definitely going to be my next blush purchase. Plus, could it be any cuter, with it’s heart shape?

  7. I wanted this even before I knew how well the product performs, @krista – it’s so darned cute! Do I really need more blush? Probably not. Will that stop me from buying this? No way… I’m smitten!

    1. @turboterp – Uh, you always need more blush. You can NEVER own too many blushes. Unless you’re me, then you should probably sign up for a 12-step program or something. Or enroll in a reputable clown college…

  8. Aahhhhh you are haunting me with this review! I’ve passed by this many times at Sephora, swatched it, walked away…It’s just too cute. I love the heart shape. I think I need it.
