Lotion Lovers Rejoice – We’ve Found The Eighth Natural Wonder
I don’t even know where to start. A scary prospect for a writer and reviewer but really, I don’t know where to start. How about a platitude? 100% Pure Body Creams are the most scintillating, effective, luxurious, reasonably priced, cruelty-free, all-natural creams I’ve used. I’d tack an “ever” on the end of that statement but I don’t want to appear too effusive.
From the Today Show and People Magazine to The Dr. Oz Show and beyond everyone is talking about 100% Pure, a brand that encompasses all sorts of natural, organic, vegan, vegetarian, antioxidant/vitamin-and/or nutrient-packed hair, skincare, bath and body and even fruit-dyed makeup products. I sampled two flavors of their Body Creams and I say “flavors” because this stuff smells good enough to eat.
A look at the ingredients in my Blood Orange Body Cream ($15) makes it look as though I could: Aloe Juice, Cocoa Butter, Avocado Butter, Black Currant Oil, Blood Orange Extract, Organic Kona Coffee, Wild Cherry, Pomegranate, Blackberry, Raspberry and White Tea are a few of the wonderfully edible and odoriferous offerings in the blend. This superior cream is 100% vegan and is gluten-free. This bright citrus scent is my out-of-the-shower wakeup call.
The Coconut Body Cream ($15) is similarly endowed with incredible arrays of anti-aging antioxidants and vitamins, and is also 100% vegan and gluten-free. The Coconut Body Cream has power fruits like Mangosteen, Goji Berry and Acai Berry as well as that super anti-ager, Resveratrol (the good stuff in red wine!). This stuff smells like how warm tropical trade winds feel. Need I say more?
Well, I will. These creams moisturize like a dream. Thick and rich and far more like a butter than any cream in a tube I’ve ever used before, these would be a bargain at twice the price. I’d suggest loving the natural scent you choose because the rich oils in these perfume your skin for hours. The scent is so natural and fresh that I couldn’t imagine anyone disliking these for that. In fact, I’m about to order the Meyer Lemon, White Peach and possibly the Honey Almond Body Creams as I write this.
Pros:
• All Natural
• Vegan
• Gluten Free
• Cruelty Free
• Inexpensive
• Incredibly Effective
• Superior Scents
• Anti-Aging benefits
• Powerful Antioxidants
Cons:
• If you like your moisturizing without fragrance (even the natural stuff), you’re out of luck
• While you probably could eat this, you probably shouldn’t
100% Pure is definitely the brand to try if you want to be left speechless.
Ladies – has a bath or body product ever leave you absolutely thunderstruck?

I’ve been on the look out/testing different ultra emollient lotions. With the scent, on a scale of 1-10… how strong would you rank it? My concern is wearing something that is too potent. Thanks!
Hi Ally! I’ve tried their body wash, hand cream and body lotion and I would say they are all a happy medium in the potency department. On a scale of 1 to 10 I’d give them a 5 or 6. Not too faint, not too strong – but just such amazingly yummy scents that it’s always the main thing you love/remember about them.
Ally – Are you asking about emolliency or scent? I’m going to answer both!
I’d take @tyna‘s scent rating and apply it to emolliency, I’d give them a 6. These are rich, but not so rich that you feel it on your skin all day. They soak in well and leave you moisturized. But it’s not like an oil or body butter.
For scent, I’d honestly give them a 9. Their coconut body cream is one of the only lotions that I still smell on my skin the next day! And the really good thing about their scents is that they are very natural and true to their names. Coconut smells like coconut, not coconut perfume. There’s not that cloying yuck that you get with a lot of synthetic lotions.
Hello Tyna! (and Stef!),
Emollient is great. My concern is overpowering scents. Scent you can smell on someone when you are standing beside them is great; being able to smell someone walking by five feet a way, not so much. Guess I will just have to try it out myself!
Sorry late in getting to this…I’m on vacation with only an iPad and limited wifi but am glad @stef and @tyna could help. I just want to add that the different scents do last differently. The coconut is quite heavy (and heavenly) but only in that it stays on your skin. Immediately after application you can definitely smell it coming but though it lingers on the skin, it’s not that intense for very long. The blood orange, too, lingers on the skin but never really has that intense “I smell you coming” bit. Since writing this I have tried the Honey Almond, Meyer Lemon and white Peach and have found the Honey Almond (like Coconut) to be among my favorites–and to have a heavier scent (I must reiterate that these are the most naturally delicious scents imaginable). Meyer Lemon is sweet, tangy and refreshing–lemonade for the skin–and, like Blood Orange, isn’t a fragrance you’ll smell coming and going. White Peach is lovely and is on the lighter side as well.
And, I forgot to mention that I slightly disagree with @stef as to the emolliency. I found these much more like a butter than a lotion, particularly the Coconut and Honey Almond ( these oils are just naturally richer). I can still feel yesterday’s moisturizer this morning as I ready for a shower (and yesterday I used Meyer Lemon). My skin is not intensely dry, however, except for my elbows so perhaps your emolliency rating depends upon how thirsty your skin is.
I already use and love 100% Pure products, but the scents you tested are sending me right back to their website with my finger on the order button. Coconut… Blood Orange… yum!
I was very happy to test the Green Apple Body Cream, and I think effusive praise is definitely the way to go here. The scent is fresh and clean and zingy and this stuff moisturizes like nobody’s business. My skin still feels soft and nourished HOURS after application, which is pretty great. Big thumbs up on the review and the product!
I love the scents of 100% Pure’s cosmetics, even their mascara smells amazing. I really want to try the Coconut and Meyer Lemon. And the fact that they are vegan makes them even more desirable!
@sherrishera, thanks for discussing this brand. I’ve had my eye on it for a long time and wondered if it could possible be as good as it appeared. Now I know–time to shop. I laughed aloud when you recommended NOT eating this in your “cons.”
It’s totally time to shop @gigi! This line is a keeper – if you are a bath and body product fanatic like me, you’ve got to check them out. I do wish there were more retail options for seeing and smelling them in person, but I couldn’t imagine ordering something from 100% Pure online and being disappointed.
Have not tried them yet but now I want to! The scents sound amazing and I’m really excited to incorporate more chemical free products into my beauty routine. I noticed you said they also make hair products and I’m wondering if the have hair care for color treated hair?
Hi! The 100% Pure Hair products look as amazing as the lotions but none are promoted as being formulated for color treated hair.
I haven’t tried it in body lotion form but I do have the Blood Orange Hydrating Body Wash and it is one of my favorite products EVER. The scent is so wonderful – citrusy fresh and zingy with a hint of sweet – in a morning shower. Plus it has a really nice foamy consistency, cleans really well without drying my skin and just makes me happy. I love everything I’ve tried for bath and body from 100% Pure and after this review I think I need to get the matching Blood Orange body lotion!
I want to try the Blood Orange one!!! I have and LOVE the Coconut body cream and have already used up a tube and repurchased it. I personally find $15 a little on the higher end, but these are seriously worth it. I hardly touched any of my other lotions.
Blood Orange…coconut…Meyer lemon…vegan…SWOON!
