The last and best skincare product I used was Sunday Riley Good Genes shown here with my tattoo

That and more in The Lipstick League, week of 3.12.18

Question of the Week: What’s the last skincare product you used on your face?

Answer: If it feels like I was just talking about Sunday Riley Good Genes, it’s because I was (just last week, in fact.) I’m new to the Sunday Riley following, but wow, color me impressed!

Good Genes is the “baby bear” of skincare products for me. (You know, juuuuust right!) It exfoliates, improves skin texture, plumps fine lines, brightens and evens skintone. It also makes my pores less visible, my skin feel more firm and more moisturized. And the side effect of more regular exfoliation (I use 4 times a week) is that I am breaking out less.

Basically Good Genes and I need to get a room…

I freakin’ love it.

I hear The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2% is similar. Which is great because it’s only $6.79, compared to Good Genes’ $105 ouchy price tag. If I can manage to snag a bottle during the 7 minutes its in-stock anywhere, I’ll let you know if that’s true.

But I think if you love a good peel, and like me are blessed with both acne and wrinkles; you’ll love Good Genes too.

If you want to try it without taking a big financial plunge, Sephora is offering the Sunday Riley Flash Fix Kit for $28. It’s a 0.27 oz bottle of Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment and 1 oz of the Ceramic Slip Clay Cleanser.

Here’s what was up with the League last week…

Prime Beauty – I tried the no!no! PRO hair removal device. I take you through its use step by step and show you before and after pics. Hint: it’s life changing!

Realizing Beauty – Do you think you can ever be too old for unicorns? Christa reviews the Too Faced Life’s a Festival Collection and shares why this whimsical collection infused with the loving energy of rose quartz crystal and an absolutely heavenly scent has both her, and her 10 year old daughter, excited.

we heart this – Nothing can hide from Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Full-Coverage Concealer. NOTHING!

Beautygeeks – is craving mini chocolate eggs and it’s all CND’s fault. Dare you not to crave them too after seeing the Chic Shock collection of swatches.

Blushing Noir – It’s got a fussy applicator…but it’s worth it! Find out how to apply Maybelline TattooStudio Waterproof Eyebrow Gel to get it to look perfect every time!

EauMG – I’m so sick of this cold weather! That’s why I’m escaping this icy sludge with things that smell like tropical fruits and flowers.

  1. That would be Dr. Weil’s signature Mushroom blend cream and boy do I love my face creams! I’ve been thinking about this remarkable hydrating cream a lot because it instantly calms my skin when it gets stressed. It’s formulated with the reishi mushroom and has a 7000 year history of use.

  2. I’ve been having a love affair with Peter Thomas Roth’s Aha/Bha Acne Clearing Gel. I got it on crazy sale at TJ Maxx. It’s been keeping my blemishes at bay and really refining my complexion. My fine lines are even starting to improve a good bit. Magic! *jazz hands*
