Advanced Clinicals Retinol Serum and Collagen Serum

We at we heart this are in the business of beauty products. We try lots of things. From this, I have learned that expensive products aren’t always the best, and inexpensive products can sometimes be pretty great. Case in point of the latter is the Advanced Clinicals Collagen and Retinol Serums and Lotions. And you will never guess where you will find these anti-aging gems!

Advanced Clinicals offers skin care solutions at affordable prices, featuring the highest quality ingredients and the most advanced delivery systems. The products are simply packaged and minimally advertised. They pass those savings on to the consumer. So much so that there’s not one product in the entire line that’s more than $30. In fact, most are way less than even that.

The number one concern I always have with over-the counter anti-aging products is that they have enough active ingredients to get the job done. Often, one finds the primary efficacious ingredient at the very bottom of the list of ingredients merely to sell a product. Not so with Advanced Clinicals. The titular ingredients of each serum, retinol and collagen respectively, are in the top half of listed ingredients. This placement guarantees the ingredients’ prominence according to the FDA’s Cosmetic Labeling Guide. Best of all, these affordable, effective serums are available at the very accessible Wal-Mart. Yes, you heard me, Wal-Mart.

That last bit had this cosmetic snob cautiously optimistic about the results I’d see. But results I got.

My wrinkles aren’t very apparent, but the hollows of my eyes and sagging jowls are. So, too, is my rosacea at times. Oh, let’s just face it; my skin just isn’t as bouncy as it used to be, either.

The Collagen Serum (1.75 fl oz, $4.82…yes, you read that correctly) really does instantly give my skin a dewy glow. I have used this every morning for a couple of weeks now, after my shower and before my moisturizer. My skin seems to drink all the moisture it’s given—a veritable sponge. As I’m facing a very dry winter here in Southern California, I find this particularly impressive. If you suffer from fine lines around your lips, this product claims to be especially helpful for these, too.

The Retinol Serum (1.75 fl oz, $4.82…again, you’re not seeing things!) has been quite helpful with my rosacea. Before using this product, I did a quick study to see if it was advisable to use a retinol on rosacea-prone skin, as I am likely to flush and itch. Apparently, retinol is frequently prescribed for rosacea! I used the Retinol Serum at night. It did initially make my skin flushed and tight. The directions say this means it’s mad at work fighting wrinkles and sun damage.

Sure enough, the red rosacea bumps I went to bed with were all but gone in the morning. The rosacea does creep up, but has diminished with consistent uses. Also, while I don’t have wrinkles to speak of, I do have a nasty sleep wrinkle by my left eyebrow for which I used extra product. It has noticeably diminished as well. I’m going to continue with this product in hopes to banish it forever!

Advanced Clinicals Collagen Lotion 16 oz tub priced under 6 dollars at Wal-mart

You’ll have to visit your local Walmart to pick up the serums at this great price (they’re not available current online). But you can find their counterparts at Walmart.com; the Advanced Clinicals Retinol Firming Cream and the Advanced Clinicals Collagen Skin Rescue Lotion. Both are packaged in oversized 16 oz pump containers and are a steal at $5.99 each.

If you simply can’t wait for an in-store visit (which, I get) they can be purchased at the Advanced Clinicals website.

Overall, I give these serums high marks. My skin is definitely smoother, plumper and more even-toned for having used these, and the price can’t be beat. Really, there is no reason for anyone not to try these.

we heartsters, ready…set…go to Wal-Mart to get your Advanced Clinicals. Glow on, now!

  1. I got to test the big tub of Advanced Clinicals Retinol Firming Cream and it’s truly a steal! It’s too soon to attest to its firming abilities, but it’s certainly moisturizing in a completely non-greasy, unscented way. I’m also using Advanced Clinicals Vitamin C Serum, which is a dupe of a very expensive serum I will never buy again because this one is about $60 cheaper! @sherishera is so right– there’s no reason not to check out this line!
