BeanandBodyCoffee and I have been having a love affair for some time. It’s to be expected, I come from a long line of coffee addicts. My Grandmother used to call it her “medicine” and had a pot brewing all hours of the day.

Me, I was a cup-a-day kind of gal for years. Until recently. Nothing like a hectic schedule to make you crave/need a bit more than one cup of “oompf” a day! But that added oompf also means you’re also doubling (or tripling) your caffeine intake. Is that a bad thing? Maybe not. Especially if your extra cup or two comes from Bean and Body, the world’s healthiest coffee.

Bean and Body aim to turn America’s daily ritual into a healthy habit. Their mission? To show that coffee shouldn’t get a bad rap. I was happy to see they complied some really positive findings on the good things that coffee can do (besides that lovely buzz). Just a few; the American Institute for Cancer Research says that coffee may boost health to reduce your risk of cancer. The Journal of American Medicine finds that coffee lowers the risk of Parkinson’s. And the American Journal on Clinical Nutrition says that coffee contains more antioxidants than grape juice, blueberries, raspberries and oranges. Hooray coffee!

Of course, there are other ways to feel good too, and Bean and Body know that. That’s why each purchase supports their Protected Grounds Initiative, which helps to buy, protect and preserve the most threatened areas of the worlds’ rainforests, and the people and wildlife within them.

But how about the taste? With their 4 blends, they add to the already mighty bean a slew of additional good-for-you ingredients and have created not only healthy iced coffee drinks, but flavors to please every coffee fiend. We received each to try…

Coffee Rescue – This is a hearty, strong blend with sweet caramel, buttery undertones and a vanilla finish. It also packs one heck of a tasty wallop!

Coffee marTeani – Love coffee? Love tea? Can’t decide which one more? You don’t have to! This blends the delicate flavors of green tea with coffee, then adds chai spices of cardamon and clove and a touch of ginger. Spicy and absolutely delicious.

Coffee Anti-Ox – Coffee and fruit? Oh my yes! Super antioxidants acai, pomegranate and blueberry are added for a delicate coffee and berry treat.

Coffee Energy – Energy drinks are great in theory. The problem for me? They’re usually awful tasting. So not the case here! Three stimulants (coffee, smoked yerba mate and guarana) are combined for an all natural boost of energy. It’s powerful, and yummy!

  2. Oooo, these sounds SO good! I’ve been off coffee now for a few years and just recently jumped back on it, mostly because we got a Keurig as a wedding present and it’s so fun to use…

Unfortunately, like most canned coffee, this has milk in it so I wouldn’t be able to have it. (BOO!) But, color me jealous!

  3. I couldn’t wait to review this one! Yes, I’m sipping my Coffee Rescue as I type.. I have to tell you, that it’s not just tasty, it’s delish! It is not heavy or thick in consistency-but rather light. It has a light taste of coffee and is has a hint of vanilla. My only beef is that it’s only 8 fl. oz. not 16! I am anxious to get my mitts on the other varieties. Great find Stef! Your coffee likes have out done themselves! Don’t forget to check out their website.. It’s beyond unique! Love it.. Will be buying this too. I feel healthier already! Gotta go to work now so I’ll report back later on how I feel with drinking just this instead of drinking my regular Joe..

  4. I’m an avid coffee drinker who is always on the lookout for new, delicious ways to get her fix, so when I got Bean & Body Coffee Rescue, the healthiest coffee drink, I was pretty excited. I had never run into canned coffee before this and after some research I found out that canned coffee is popular in Japan, where it is sold hot and cold. I popped mine into the fridge and drank it at the start of a particularly busy day. I thought it tasted a lot like the bottled Starbucks Frappuccino drinks – slightly sweetened coffee with a splash of milk, delicious! This organic coffee drink is all the more delicious when you check out the nutrition facts – only 100 calories and 1.5 grams of fat per can (less than the previously mentioned Starbucks drink). I was concerned about the effects of the Guarana, but I felt great after I drank Bean & Body; awake but not jittery and I didn’t have a harsh crash later on during the day. I still have to get used to the idea of canned coffee, but with Bean & Body, that shouldn’t be too difficult.

  5. I love coffee. Actually that is an understatement. Coffee and I go way back. When I was a kid my parents would take my brother and I to their friends house so they could play cards. My brother and I got to play with their kids but, I was the youngest and they didn’t always want the little girl to play the big kid games so, I would run to my mom and she would give me a cup of coffee and let me “help” her play Hearts with the adults. So for me, coffee started out at a young age, maybe 5 or 6 years old, and has stuck with me ever since, as a dear old friend.

When I opened up the box of goodies from WHT I held up the can of Coffee Rescue and was overcome with love and compassion ( I told you, coffee and I are soul mates). I knew I couldn’t wait for the review to come around to drink it, so it went in the fridge right away. The next morning I opened up the can and gulped it down. When coffee is good it’s good and sometimes you just can’t sip, you have to gulp.

I have to admit, I was scared that it wouldn’t have the same taste as homemade coffee. I mean, it says it’s healthy and it’s in a can. But this can didn’t disappoint. It had a nice coffee taste. The Carmel and vanilla didn’t over power at all. I tend to get a little mad with coffee baristas when all you can taste is the syrup and none of the coffee. And was very glad that Bean & Body didn’t do that. Coffee Rescue has what I like, coffee with a hint of sweet. They get 2 thumbs up from me and all 5 stars!

  6. I wish I had another one of these ice cold coffee drinks! I’ve been a fan of ICE Coffee long before it became popular. I enjoy drinking ice coffee when i get to work where we have one of those Keurig Coffee units and I make mine over ice every morning. MY afternoon cofee is hot don’t ask, must be a back east habbit i can’t break. I don’t think this bev would taste good hot!

  7. Just like everyone else who has posted a comment, I LOVE coffee. It was hard to deliberately save this cute little can of coffee until it was time to write this review–I was so tempted to drink it earlier but I wanted to wait so that the taste would be fresh in my memory!

That said, I received the Coffee Rescue for review, and I just drank it over ice. As much as I LOVE that the ingredients are all natural and the coffee is 100% organic, I’m sad to report that this drink tasted a little bit off to me. I’m not sure what it is, but it seemed to lack the “oomph” that other canned coffees have. I really need a little kick in the morning but this one tasted a flat and bit lifeless to me. :(

But because this brand strives to give consumers a healthier alternative to the usual coffee drinks, I would definitely give the other variations a try. Maybe this flavor is deliberately more “gentle” because it’s designed to fix a hangover?

  8. Just drank my Coffee Rescue… I’m new to iced coffee, only having ‘discovered’ it this summer. I know, I know! But having grown up on (hot) tea, I just couldn’t get my head around the idea of cold coffee! Now I’m a convert.

I’m also a natural skeptic, so when I read on the can that this drink ‘recovers the body, soars the spirit and invigorates the mind’, my first thought was ‘yeah, right.’

And, to be fair, I was correct! Although I only drunk the coffee a short while ago, I’ve felt no effect whatsoever. OK, I do have a touch of jetlag, so perhaps it’s not an entirely fair test, but, as I say, so far, nothing (I’ll report back if this changes but right now all I want to do is nap – not the desired effect!)

That said, the taste is lovely – creamy and not too strong – and the whole (albeit slim) can contains only 100 calories.

I’d definitely drink this again, if only for the taste. Three stars from me!!!

  9. The next coffee addict signing on! I also couldn’t wait to test this Coffee Rescue. I chilled it in my fridge and have been impatiently waiting for this day to get it out! I love how the can says “To untie the night you tied one on!” I don’t get too many chances to have hangover mornings anymore, but I have the next best testing situation – a 3 month old and a teaching job. I definitely am in need of coffee rescue on a daily basis! I had to be careful of the guarana in this since apparently the guarana seed has twice the caffeine of a coffee bean? Nowhere on the can does it say how much caffeine is in the can from what I can see. I’m only allowed 200 mg caffeine per day with nursing, so I decided I’d better skip my 2 cups of regular this morning. I wasn’t quite satisfied with the cold, slightly sweet taste, so I have to admit I’m a bad mom and had that other cup of my regular coffee! I did not feel jittery at all, but quite awake. I did have a little bit of a dizzy feeling a half hour after drinking it, but that could’ve been from something else too, if no one else felt that way. I think it’s quite tasty, but not strong or sweet enough to keep my satisfied on a regular basis for my only coffee. But, I can see drinking this in the summer for something more refreshing – or, if you love cold coffee and don’t like it too sweet, this would be right up your alley!

  10. Thanks for all the feedback :)

I have to say in the interest of fairness that if you tried only the rescue, you might have missed out on the unique variety we put into all the rest. For a little more wind in your wings, definitely reach for the ‘energy’ and you should be quite happy. For a more exotic trip (with intentionally lower levels of caffeine), crack an anti-ox or marteani.

If anyone needs a few extra samples, feel free to email me and I’d be happy to oblige you as a thanks for your thoughtful reviews.

  11. I got to test out the Bean & Body Coffee Rescue “with guarana and stimulating herbs”–First of all, I am not a coffee drinker. I’m a tea girl. However, I do have a weakness for iced coffee when I need a little extra “pep”. I try to keep those iced coffees to a minimum, though, because they usually are packed with calories and I prefer to eat my calories instead of drink them. Happily, Bean & Body Coffee Rescue only has 100 calories, 1.5 grams of fat and something I don’t think anybody’s mentioned: 4 grams of protein—which will help you feel full longer and give you energy—a perfect way to start the day.
The taste is very light—not too thick or too creamy or too sickeningly sweet, just refreshing. I don’t think I got a jolt of energy, just a feeling of being very alert. I now feel the need to “tie one on” to really put this drink to the test :)

  12. I’ve never been a refrigerated coffee drink type of person, but I really enjoyed Bean and Body Energy coffee. It was really refreshing and kept me full energy all day. I didn’t have a caffeine crash nor did I feel jittery. Also, unlike most coffee drinks or coffee that I have had, it didn’t upset my stomach or make me feel gassy. I can’t say too much more except I wish I had another one handy having to be at work tomorrow at 8:45 a.m. :-)

  13. I love this stuff and totally stock up on it! So much in fact that I have cases of it in my car! I drink it almost every night at work and love to share it with my friends.

Though my favs are MarTeani and AntiOX, I also really like Rescue. They all have such unique and refreshing tastes. My new favorite thing to do is to freeze them for a while to make a sort of slushie out of them. A very excellent pick me up!

  14. I liked all of these coffee drinks as much as the bottled Starbucks varieties. More healthy? I have reservations. I mean, sugar is still sugar: cane juice may be better than corn syrup, but really…
I don’t know about the benefits of “rescue,” or “anti-ox.” It seems to me to be a lot like Vitamin Water: the vitamins are good for you, sure, but do they replace a supplement? No. You’d probably have to drink a lot of any of these to reap that kind of benefit; however, if you did that, you’d be drinking an awful lot of sugar.
Let me get back to how much I liked these, though. The taste was light and not overly sweet. I especially like the MarTeani because it was the most refreshing.
I don’t usually buy coffee drinks in a can, but the next time I’m at a convenience store looking for something to drink I may just grab a Bean & Body.

  15. First off, my husband claimed this as his own when the box arrived from WHT. I kindly agreed to share it with him so I could give a review of it. He loved it and said, “way better than the Starbucks kind.”

Here are my thought…I loved that it wasn’t overly sweet. I hate drinking bottled coffee drinks that are so sweet you can barely get through a bottle. Another thing I loved is it tasted like fresh cream. The coffee flavor was quite mild, but I liked that about it. I’m not a big fan of strong coffee. This is a drink that tasted great and I would definitely buy again.

  16. As you can see from the post, I really did like these. Like, a lot! My favorite was the Coffee marTeani, it’s like the best of both worlds. I found all of them to be less sugary tasting than Starbucks coffees, which I really appreciate (those things taste like candy!)

Thanks to Erik for stopping in on the comments too! He’s a great guy. Testers, take him up on his offer and report back what you think.

  17. I took the very generous and cool Erik up on his offer – and he even emailed me the caffeine contents of each flavor! What a guy!! My favorite by far is the Coffee marTeani – it is so refreshing and delicious! i probably wouldn’t buy anything labelled a coffee and tea hybrid, so I’m so glad I got to try it, because I’d have sure been missing out! I also really love the Anti-Ox (the fruit in with the coffee is great – i’d have never thought to put those two together). I think they’re all great. I thought I wouldn’t so much like the Energy because the caffeine was higher and i thought it’d be too strong – well, I thought that was great, too – it did not taste too strong and I did have a spike of energy, but it felt like a very calm and healthy energy – not jittery whatsoever – and I had other caffeine, too, before that. The Rescue it turns out is my least favorite, but I still thinks it’s really good, too. They all have a light, slightly sweet, slightly creamy taste, but in my opinion, the tastiest is the marTeani. I will definitely buy this again and can’t wait to share this new find with others!
