Attention mascara junkies! Benefit is about to release a new mascara that they claim will rival their cult favorite, BADgal for dark and dramatic, long and lush lashes! Hitting shelves this July, They’re Real mascara is touted as being “beyond mascara”.

Can’t wait a month to start making your own comparisons? You might be able to get your hands on a tube tomorrow! Benefit is having a one-day North American exclusive preview of They’re Real Mascara this Friday, June 10th. Tubes of the mascara will be available at six select locations for one day only until it’s sold out – and then it’s gone ’til July. Click here for the details and locations.

Are you wondering why you should face the Friday crowds for an advance look? Here’s one reason – the brush:

It’s a thing of beauty, no? There’s some science behind They’re Real’s customized brush that’s designed to help lengthen, volumize, define and curl every single lash you have ~ and some that you don’t even know you have – yet.

Can you see the staggered bristles of varying length that “grab close to the root, boosting length and volume beyond belief”. And the teeny bristles on the rounded tip help to get to the even the teeniest of lashes.

Available in one shade (for now) They’re Real ($22)is jet black with a glossy finish and a clump-proof, long-lasting formula. In fact, Benefit promises that this mascara won’t smudge, clump, or dry out.

There’s even more beauty science behind the launch of this bodacious mascara.

After careful study by Benefit’s consumer panel survey, the results are in!

According to the testers and their eyelashes:

• 94% saw dramatic length and volume

• 90% saw base-to-tip curl

• 94% saw visible lift

• 100% saw long-wearing results

Draw your own conclusions by dropping by a participating retail location on Friday to get an exclusive preview – or wait a few weeks and pick up a tube when They’re Real lands in stores and online in July.

We’ll be back in a few weeks to give you the wht review of the They’re Real mascara. Will it receive the wht stamp of approval? Stay tuned…

Ladies, are you staying true to your BADgal or counting the days until the release of They’re Real mascara?

  1. Counting the days, this looks interesting, i think they got me through the marketing but i also really like the brush itself looks unique :)

  2. Ah, a brush after my own heart! I love, love, love plastic bristle brushes. Can’t wait to give this a twirl.

  3. I can’t wait to hear what y’all have to say about its staying power. I loved how Badgal looks on me, but it dissolves with my dreaded oily eyelids after a couple hours. I would love a mascara that stays put. I have a drugstore one I’m fond of, but it doesn’t CURL. I want curly lashes in the worst way…

    1. Me too! I’ve had bad luck with Bad Gal unfortunately.

  4. I just about fell out of my chair. This is seriously the most exciting thing in the world right now. I LOVE benefit! And I LOVE BadGAL! Can’t wait to get my hands on this… And yeah, I’m really wishing I lived in CA right now so I could get some on Friday. Not fair!

    1. So now I’ve had a chance to use this I’m going to talk about it a little more. This stuff really is great. I have the longest lashes I’ve ever had. Its a little stiff once dried, but it lasts FOREVER, and I had no smudge or smear even on a crazy humid day. The brush is really great too, because you can really get into the corners to make sure ALL of your lashes have a good coating of product.

  5. I need all the length and volume I can get with my itty-bitty lashes. I may need to check this out…. :)

  6. Yeah, I’m chompping at the bit.. I’ll be looking for this little number by Benefit!

  7. The close-up of the brush was all it took to convince me. Can’t wait!

  8. I would love to try this now!! For all of the Benefit Fans out there, ULTA is having a great GWP with a $25 purchase. You get a mini bad gal mascara, travel sized posey tint and porefessional.

  9. I am always on the hunt for the next great mascara and this looks awesome! I will definitely be checking it out!

  10. Okay, so I got a sample of this new mascara from Sephora and I kind of love it. I have had a horrible experience with Bad Gal where it just melted around my eyes and smudged to a ridiculous degree (I have oily lids, but this stuff was just stupid in the amount it disintegrated on me). They’re Real only had minor smudging after wearing for 8 hours on a humid day. I think the thing that made me love this the most is not since my beloved L’Oreal Le Grand Curl was discontinued have I found a mascara that truly curls my lashes. Oh, I still use an eyelash curler, but this actually sets the curl and pulls the lashes back even more. Most mascaras pull the curl right out and I end up with straight, spikey lashes. Boo! This also elongates the lashes, too. I feel this actually gave me very dramatic results for a mascara and as much as I hate spending a lot of money on a mascara, I think this one is kinda worth it. I really can’t recommend it enough :)
