You’ll want to nibble on these amazing tinted lip balms!
Bite Beauty’s combination of quality lip products and a focus on all-natural ingredients made their High Pigment Matte Lip Pencil a huge hit with the we heart this review team earlier this year (click here for our review). It’s easy to see why we heart them – they’re highly pigmented, long-wearing and infused with resveratrol (a powerful antioxidant), shea butter and food-grade color. And you won’t find any synthetic dyes or fragrances in them either!
The new Bite Beauty Lush Lip Tints ($24) are a fabulous addition to the brand, and help to round out the company’s offerings. In contrast to the opaque, matte finish of the lip pencils, these lip tints have a shiny, sheer finish, and buildable pigmentation.
Plus a few extra benefits are found in the white “B” in the center of each tint, which contains a total of 10 grams of reserveratol, and also just a teensy bit of shimmer.
The Lush Lip Tints are a great low maintenance and versatile products for summer. You’ll have fewer products in your purse/beach bag, because this one product can give both a sheer wash of color for lounging poolside, and also a deeper color for going out in the evening.
They apply smoothly and give just the right amount of shine, without being sticky or overly slick. I don’t need a mirror to apply it, even when layering it on. Very convenient!
The Lush Lip tints are available in six shades (and I’m pretty sure I want all of them) and the wht team got a look at three colors:
Lychee – light pink nude
Watermelon – Cool toned medium pink
One coat of this gives a natural looking “my lips but better look,” while multiple coats intensify the pink.
Cherry – just that! a bright shiny red
This would be a good way to try out a red lip without all of the drawbacks of a traditional red lipstick. Try it sheer, and then build up the color as your confidence increases.
What I like most about the Lush Lip Tints is that they have wonderful lasting power. It’s pretty impressive that they provide both color and moisture for a few hours, and then leave a nice subtle stain after that. There’s no need to worry about that dreaded ring around your lips.
While many tinted balms come in less-than-cute plastic twist up tubes, the matte black tube on these beauties is sleek and elegant enough to use anywhere.
Also impressive: it didn’t even melt in my car, even after I’d left it in there during a trip to the gym! (Disclaimer: I am not promising that it won’t melt in your car, just saying it hasn’t melted in my car… yet).
I admit the price tag is a bit of a drawback, but if you’re looking for a splurge on a lip product for the summer, this is a good bet.
As far as tinted balms go, the Lush Lip Tints are at the head of the pack. The ingredients, color, texture, lasting power and versatility really make them stand out in a sea of glosses, lipsticks and balms.
we heartsters – are you ready to take a bite out of these beauties?

Wow! These are gorgeously pigmented for being tints. Love the cute little B too! Cherry and Watermelon are totally droolworthy.
I need Lychee. Not want…need… as in I’m 95% sure that will be my next makeup purchase
Super Wow! They look just too cool.. love the B and the great looking lip tints! I’m all over Lychee too! Shine is good! Will check these out next trip to Sephora!
Great Review @lipglossandspandex !!! I was just at giant Sephora tonight in the Seattle area and must have missed this brand. I want to check this out in person– probably tomorrow.
Hahaha, I’m glad I’m not the only one that will rate things on how well they withstand the heat of my car! I’m forever losing lipstick under a seat somewhere, never to be found until it’s a goopy mess.
I love Watermelon. As I get a little tanner in the summer I reach for cool toned products to compliment my glow. I’m going to have to hit up my local Sephora to see these in person!
Sooo… right after I say it hasn’t melted in my car, my lip tint fell out of my purse and totally ended up melted :(
In spite of that, I love the color, the packaging, and the texture. It’s really easy to use and super versatile. The price is a smidge high, and while it felt good on my lips, it wasn’t as moisturizing as I’d like it to be. Four stars… I’m considering buying a replacement. ;)
@repippin I have Lychee and it is by far the best lip color I’ve ever owed.. <—– Super strong statement right there but I stand by it! I and a lip product junkie but never really been brand loyal, I'm now a huge fan of Bite! I've never noticed them at Sephora but will be looking next time.. The price is steep but I can't explain why I think its worth it….. Great subtle wash of color, but still noticeable, smells & tastes YUM, smooth texture…. Its just fab.. I will be repurchasing this.. I guess I've been converted to a loyal customer?! Miracles do come true!
I agree with @almoststylish–it’s hard to explain why these are worth it, but they just are! I do like that the smell and taste are sweet and subtle. It’s one of those good products when it comes to the basics.
I got to try out the Cherry and it’s been my constant lip product this summer. I even wear it around the house when I don’t want to look like a complete bum. The red is that perfect shade that flatters everyone (I’m always amazed when a company does a perfect red)–just face brightening and not in the least bit garrish–and it feels awesome on my lips–very smooth and buttery. The vaguely fruity scent is very subtle, but also adds to why I’m loving this. This wasn’t even on my radar before I tried it, but now I’m wondering where it’s been all my life. 5 solid stars from me :)
Now I just need to check out the other shades…like, ALL of the other shades…
