Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm
During the summer, I often swap out some of my beauty products for easy/sheer/quick options. Foundation gets replaced with tinted moisturizer and sunscreen; a full eye makeup look is swapped out for a bit of cream eye shadow and lipstick moves aside for tinted balm. When I’m sweating my face off in the sun, I’m not really in the mood to touch up my lips, ya know?
So here’s my new summer go-to: Clinique Chubby Stick Baby Tint Moisturizing Lip Colour Balms. These no-fuss, twist-up crayons promise a little bit of color AND a lotta moisture. Since my poor chapped lips were ready for a hefty dose of TLC; the timing was perfect.
The coolest thing about these Clinique Chubby Stick Baby Tint Balms is that they say the colors are different on everyone. The product reacts with your lips allowing the color to “bloom” (like a new and improved mood lipstick!) All three shades that I tried were subtle in terms of both color and finish, but they definitely gave me a nice “my lips but better” tint. Each balm comes in color-coordinating packaging, so it’s easy to find the color you want.
Flowering Freesia – sheer violet tint
Coming Up Rosy – sheer red tint
Budding Blossom – sheer baby pink tint
Poppin’ Poppy – sheer coral tint
I tried Coming Up Rosy, Flowering Freesia and Budding Blossom, and I really loved all three. These seem to be pretty universally flattering due to the magical self-adjusting pigments. The effect of the color tint is closer to what you’d get from Chapstick than other tinted balms on the market, but the natural looking color is actually something that I really love about these. You can definitely layer this product on for a little more color too, and that kind of versatility is great for both summer and day-to-night looks.

If you really want/need more pigmentation, Clinique also offers their regular Chubby Stick Moisturizing Colour Lip Balm in 16 shades available, and their Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in 8 shades.

These Baby Tint Balms all have a nice satin finish, which is especially great if you’re going for the “no makeup” makeup look. And they get bonus points because the product wears away evenly, and the color seems to stain my lips slightly. Meaning your lips still look great, even if you don’t have time to reapply. The product glides easily across the lips, and has a really nice feel to it–no overly slick or tacky. These weren’t as moisturizing as I had hoped (but to be honest, my lips needed a bit of a miracle) though they did a decent job. Plus, layering on the product left my lips feeling softer than just a quick swipe-and-go application, like I would typically do with a lip balm.

These are super cute and seem like a great option for a low key summer look.
Oooh, Flowering Freesia looks so pretty. I’m loving purple anything right now!
seriously clinique that was the only 100% perfect product you had to discontinue is I dont know what is the problem ave travelled all over the world looking for the only pieces left in the market .its sad kindly reconsider that decision of pulling it down
