A quick and gentle way to remove makeup quickly

I have a pretty strict face routine at night.  Between my cleanser, toner, serums and moisturizer, I have it down to a science.  But, oh how exhausting it can be! After a long day at work, or a crazy day with kids, sometimes the LAST thing I want to do is my multi-step face ritual.  But, there’s always mom’s voice in the back of my head, “You CAN’T go to bed with your makeup on!” Yes, mom, I know, so even on those nights, at least there’s an alternative…

Clinique Take the Day Off Micellar Cleansing Towelettes ($14) are a great option for those kind of nights.  Made with micellar water, these wipes are the perfect solution to gently removing the day’s makeup away without needing to rinse, or anything else for that matter.

I’m usually very hesitant to use makeup removing wipes because they sometimes irritate my skin and a lot of them have a really strong scent, which I don’t care for.  These Clinique wipes are super gentle. The micellar water is perfect for those with sensitive skin and they have a very mild scent, so my face actually felt clean and refreshed after using them. Micellar water also really works well to melt away makeup.  I found that one wipe will take off a day of makeup pretty darn good, mascara included! But I like using two, one to get most makeup off and a second just to get any missed residue.

So, obviously these aren’t something you want to replace your skin care routine with. My face never quite feels quite as clean as it does using my full arsenal of products. But for travel they are invaluable to have, and for when you’re too exhausted to do much else!  I also like having them on hand to take off a heavy face of makeup, after a party or night out, and then following up with my face routine.

These are the newest to the line of Clinique “Take The Day Off” products, including an Oil, Balm and Milk, and a formula specifically for eyes, lashes and lips.  I have heard really good things about the Balm, so that’s what I’ll be checking out next!
