Here are the top three products that I’m crushing on this week…

Briogeo-Deep-Conditioning-Mask

• It’s criminal what I do to my hair. Dying, heat styling, elastic bands; it’s tortured (and usually looks the part.) Which is why I’m a huge fan of deep conditioning products. If I want my hair to have any resemblance of “health” they are a necessity.

There’s also a certain luxury to a deep conditioner (particularly a mask) that I really enjoy. An ultra creamy product that requires you to slow down and allow it to do its magic? Yes, please. It can sometimes be the only time I relax all day!

For all these reasons, I ADORE the Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! deep conditioning mask ($26). It may just be the best smelling haircare product I’ve ever used. I can’t exactly place it, but it has a light floral meets wood scent that smells much more like a high-end perfume than a conditioner. Really, I want to bottle it, or slather myself in it!

But it’s what it does, rather than smells like, that has me gaga. Specifically for dry, damaged, or chemically-treated hair (check, check and check), it’s loaded with a myriad of good stuff like” avocado, sweet almond & argan oils, strengthening keratin protein, power-conditioning rosehip oil, soothing aloe, and super hair-essential vitamins B5, D, A, E and biotin.” I even see my beloved Calendula on the ingredients list.

The Be Gentle, Be Kind shampoo and Blossom and Bloom volumizing conditioner are pretty fabulous as well. But it’s Don’t Despair, Repair that I find myself looking forward to in the shower the most. Since I’ve started using it, my hair looks healthier and shinier, feels softer and smells incredible. As a matter of fact, I was at an event on Monday and TWO people (count ’em, two!) told me my hair looked great and I absolutely give Briogeo the credit.

MAC-Huggable-lipcolour-2

• If you are a lipstick lover, I’d like you to meet your new favorite! MAC Huggable Lipcolour ($20) is 12 limited edition shades that offer just about everything you want in a lip color. They’re uber shiny, beautifully pigmented, moisturizing and one of the most comfortable formulas that I’ve ever had the pleasure of wearing.

They’re a gel rather than a cream and let me tell you, gel makes for a really plush feeling lipstick! The formula is even said to helps boost collagen.

Shown above:
Red Necessity – berry red
Cherry Glaze – bright orange red
Fashion Force – bright coral
Touche – light peachy tan (calling fellow nude lovers, I LOVE this!)

I couldn’t part with even one of the shades we received (sorry team!) Between the lush formula and beautiful colors, I just couldn’t share. And I’m half tempted to make the other eight shades mine before they break my heart around Valentine’s Day when they’re no longer for sale.

Murad-Cleansing-Oil

• I’m a big supporter of long-wearing eye products. Except for one downside; getting them off. It’s great when you’re up in da club, not so great when you’re trying to go to bed. Which is why I always keep an oil based makeup remover in my arsenal.

Murad Renewing Cleansing Oil ($32) is a particularly luxurious one, both in price and formula. But the bottle is huge (6 oz) and it works so well that I don’t mind the semi-splurge.

You can use it on your face and lips as well. I have a love/hate relationship with oil (yay, oily skin: less wrinkles! boo, oily skin: makeup slides off my face!) , so I only use it on my eyes. But I would imagine if you have dry or even normal skin, you’ll definitely use this to the most of its capabilities.

This goes above and beyond a typical oil-based eye makeup remover. Because it is a cleansing oil, it ever so slightly lathers when water is added. So it rinses its own oiliness away, but leaves you feeling moisturized. I feel like I’m treating my eye area instead of just stripping things away. Good stuff!

  1. @stef – Thanks for sharing your current crushes. I am a big Murad fan and did not know about their renewing cleansing oil. You had me at sweet almond oil. I do not have any new current crushes to report. However, I am on the lookout for a new eye cream that turns back the sands of time and the perfect eyeshadow that makes my hazel eyes pop.

  2. I am so interested in the Be Gentle, Be Kind shampoo and Blossom and Bloom volumizing conditioner. The product is really screaming my name.. I’m all about good hair care and always looking for products made like this.. No garbage in it at all.. only goodness!

Oh, and ALL of those pretty lipsticks are pretty nice crushes @stef, I think MAC’s Huggable Lip colors are gorgeous Touche, especially! AND $20, I’m heading over now!

  3. I’m currently crushing on the newest limited edition Viva Glam lipstick and lipgloss… it’s for a good cause! I’m also dying to get my hands on the two new limited edition Fluidlines that are part of the A Fantasty of Flowers collection.

  4. I love that the Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! mask can stand up on it’s own, like soft serve ice cream! That means it’s nice and thick and will really stay on your hair and not slide off, even in a hot shower. (I’ve had many a run-in with thin, useless hair masks…)

I actually don’t have a crush right now! My hair is still growing in, and is pretty straight, so I’m exploring the world of hair waxes and pomades…
Ooo, wait. I do have a new favorite perfume; Olivine Atelier’s Full Regalia; Vanilla, Egyptian Jasmine, Moroccan Red Rose, Musk, Blackberry, and a hint of Patchouli. SO lovely and sexy. https://www.etsy.com/listing/127628305/full-regalia-eau-de-parfumno-1-best

    1. I should note that I have the perfume oil, after trying the sampler pack. I’m a product junkie, but also very cheap. :-)

    2. Yep, that’s my litmus test for a hair mask too: I want fluffy peaks!

Ok, and I’ve never heard of Olivine Atelier before – I just totally obsessed over the designs and scent descriptions. I think a sampler pack is in my future!

    3. I think you’ll love it, @stef! I’m pretty picky with scents, but I have worn all five of my sample bottles so much that they’re gone! :-)

  5. Ooh, I am looking to try a new hair line and a huge part of my selection is scent! Can’t wait to give Briogeo a try, it sounds fabulous.

  6. thanks for sharing, stef! my hair could definitely use some loving.

  7. The Murad and the MAC sound awesome!! I am currently loving FLOWER Black Rose Lipstick. It is gorgeous, dark, long lasting, and totally comfortable to wear. I am also totally obsessed with Urban Decay’s Verve eyeshadow. It is the most gorgeous taupe ever!!!

  8. Hmmm…interesting and impressive. This seems like a great product to try out. I am quite impressed too with its formula. This is def a must try.

  9. what I am talking about is the Murad cleansing oil. Kinda curious about it.

  10. Oooh…that MAC lippie in Red Necessity looks like it’s right up my alley!

@stef – Is that Briogeo mask silicone free? I’ve been silicone free for the last 2 months and have discovered that my wavy hair is actually almost curly. It’s also gotten thicker and shinier. I am looking for a good hair mask to add to my repertoire :)

    My current crushes:
Origins Modern Friction—I used to use it years ago and then I got into another skincare line. Then I got a deluxe sample and remembered that this stuff is awesome as a mask–I’m a fair-skinned girl and sometimes I can get ruddy–this helps take the red out of my face and cleared up the blackheads on my nose after 3 uses, along with healing other blemishes in half the time. I’m going to have to buy a full-size version this weekend to continue the awesomeness.

Clé de Peau Beauté Rosy Frost cream blush—I treated myself to this first and only cream blush from Clé de Peau Beauté for Christmas and this slightly shimmery, rose-hued blush is what this fair-skinned/dark-haired girl needed this winter—it’s beyond lovely. I think it’s sold out online, but it’s still available at some counters–I did a very brief search and Saks Fifth Avenue in NYC and Stamford, CT still have them, according to their website.

Body Shop Chocomania Lip Butter—It’s a rich and deeply hydrating lip balm that smells like chocolate. I don’t really think I need to go further into detail, do I? :)

    1. Yep – silicone free! The shampoo and conditioner too.

Love your crushes. I always love hearing about our resident blush addict’s latest love.
