I suffer from adult acne.

And when I say “suffer”, I mean suffer.

We’re talking, I usually have at least one or two blemishes at any given time and said blemishes are almost impossible to conceal.

I am constantly looking for products that will obliterate these breakouts once and for all and thanks to CVS/pharmacy, I have to look no further!

CVS is my go-to place for drugstore makeup and now it’s my go-to place for skincare. Their exclusive dermatologist-tested Skin+Pharmacy Advanced Acne Therapy line (available here) is nothing short of amazing!

I was lucky enough to test their Advanced Acne Therapy Gentle Exfoliating Scrub, Clarifying Daily Cleanser, Active Clearing Lotion, Spot Treatment, and Targeted Treatment Wipes.

They have a product for every acne-busting need and I know all of you fellow acne sufferers will find something to love from this line.

The first step to good skincare is washing your face.

The Advanced Acne Therapy line offers two options: a gentle scrub and an oil and blemish-fighting cleanser.

Skin+Pharmacy Advance Acne Therapy Exfoliating Scrub

The Exfoliating Scrub ($11) is extremely gentle, yet effective. It utilizes Macrobead™ technology, which means it uses larger beads that won’t over-exfoliate or damage skin.

I know I’ve used scrubs that feel like sandpaper and my skin responds with even more oil and breakouts due to the irritation.

This scrub just leaves your skin soft and clean.

Skin+Pharmacy Advance Acne Therapy Daily Cleanser

The Clarifying Daily Cleanser ($11) contains Polytrap™, an oil absorber than can absorb up to 4 times its weight in skin oil. It also contains maximum strength salicylic acid to fight breakouts.

This cleanser unclogs pores and keeps oil at bay, unlike any other cleanser I’ve tried.

When I used the cleanser alone, it noticeably cleared up blemishes overnight! This officially gets a permanent spot on the tiny shelf in my shower.

Skin+Pharmacy Advance Acne Therapy Active Clearing Lotion

The next step to good skincare is moisture.

The Active Clearing Lotion ($12) reduces inflammatory blemishes and soothes as it unclogs pores.

It contains time-released Microsponge™ technology, which means it maintains its acne-fighting efficacy all day long. From morning until night, this lotion is keeping your skin clear!

I will say that for me, this lotion was more of a gentle spot treatment (it contains half of the benzoyl peroxide as the spot treatment)–this is perfect for those smaller blemishes that you don’t need to pull out the big guns for.

A tiny dab clears without irritation.

Skin+Pharmacy Advance Acne Therapy Spot Treatment

The final step to good skincare is treatment. The Spot Treatment and Targeted Treatment Wipes both contain Microsponge™ technology and 5% benzoyl peroxide, so they kill acne-causing bacteria and treat breakouts all day and night.

The Spot Treatment ($12) stops breakouts cold.

This is the “big gun” I was referring to above.

Just a dab at night (it turns white when dry, so this is a nighttime only treatment, in my opinion) and in the morning, the offending blemish is almost gone.

It’s that fast!

Be sure to use sparingly, though–this is so strong that it can dry out healthy skin.

Try to apply this only on the blemish and if you have sensitive skin like me, try applying moisturizer around the blemish before applying the spot treatment.

Skin+Pharmacy Advance Acne Therapy Targeted Treatment Wipes

While I loved everything from this line, I think my favorite product I tested is the Targeted Treatment Wipes ($12).

These are just amazing. Each box contains 2 portable packets containing 10 wipes each.

Just cleanse your face and wipe with these clothes and your skin is noticeably clearer in less than a day—it works that quickly! I almost couldn’t believe how quickly these wipes worked on my skin.

They’re that good!

Overall, I was very impressed with how quickly Skin+Pharmacy’s Advanced Acne Therapy line worked. If you need results fast, I highly recommend you check this out the next time you’re at CVS.

You’re going to love it!

Plus, I’m a big fan of the CVS Beauty Club, where you get $5 ExtraBucks® Rewards for every $50 cumulatively spent on qualifying beauty products (a total that is VERY easy to reach as CVS has become my go-to for my makeup and skincare needs.)

Has anybody else tried any of the exclusive-to-CVS lines?

We’ve loved their Skin+Pharmacy anti-aging and acne-fighting lines

  1. I took the targeted treatment wipes with me to Hawaii and for the first time during a vacation, I didn’t break out! I enjoyed clean, clear skin the entire time! I’m restating my love for these!

  2. Targeted Treatment Wipes. They are now in my ‘must get’ list today. Anything that can help my stupid acne, would be a blessing. Off to CVS I go.

  3. Hmm I’m very interested in those! My acne has gotten a little better now that I’m 29, but I haven’t been able to get rid of it completely.

I can’t find the acne cleanser at ANY CVS and it’s been my holy grail product for years! Do you have a contact at CVS that can confirm if is been discontinued or not? Super bummed and scared to be without it, lol!
