Hi, my name is Melissa and I am a heat abuser.

My hair is naturally very wavy. With the right products, it can be borderline curly. I’ve tried to embrace what my follicles instinctively want to do, but I always feel my best when my hair is blown out as straight as possible. This takes a lot of time, and we all know hair styling is something that shouldn’t be rushed.

With all the heat from my blowdryer and various styling tools, my hair can end up looking a little parched. It doesn’t help that I’m always in a hurry, and even shampooing is an activity I typically fly through at lightning speed.

Here’s why I love Dove Regenerative Nourishment Shampoo ($4.99 8.45 oz): it has the kind of rich lather that makes me slow my shampooing down to a luxurious crawl. The lather is lush and the scent is light and calming. Washing my hair with Dove feels too great to rush!

Luckily, Dove Regenerative Nourishment Conditioner ($4.99 8.45 oz) helps me make up for lost time. The product quickly coats every strand of my hair thoroughly, yet rinses out as easily as a cream rinse. Even though the formula is light, it leaves my hair thoroughly conditioned. Smells amazing, too.

The shampoo and conditioner duo makes my hair so silky and smooth, I almost don’t need the added shine of Dove Regenerative Nourishment Serum-in-Oil ($5.99 1.6 oz). Just a tiny drop or two of this serum/oil hybrid makes my hair look instantly restored to its pre-heat-abuse shininess. Flyaways are tamed and my hair feels instantly stronger and healthier. Warning: you need way less of this product than you think you do. Just the teeniest drop is enough for my long hair. The Serum-in-Oil is designed to prevent split ends; it’s too soon for me to tell if this is true, but it does make my ends look instantly better.

The very first use resulted in significantly sleeker, healthier-looking hair.

The Regenerative Nourishment range contains Red Algae + Keratin NutriComplex, ingredients that make hair smooth and manageable. Continued use will supposedly strengthen hair and offer lasting improvements, but for me, the very first use resulted in significantly sleeker, healthier-looking hair.

Even though these products are a serious bargain, they perform as well as, if not better than, their super-expensive salon counterparts. Dove calls their Regenerative Nourishment products “the perfect bad hair day fix,” but I think this line is better than a fix; more like a guarantee that you won’t be having anything but good hair days from this point on.

we heartsters – have you tried the latest from Dove? We think you’ll love it!

  1. Great review-you’ve sold me! My hair suffers from color abuse, so I’m hoping that red algae will work some magic.
