If you haven’t already, it’s time to break out your favorite floral pieces. And while we love a good flower print, why not take things easy with a feminine pair of daisy earrings? Made with croceheted fabric flower trim, these simple studs will add a charming touch to any outfit. You know we love easy DIY projects! Here’s how to make them…
Supplies
- Fabric daisy trim (1/4 yard is more than enough!)
- Scissors
- Small flat back crystals (2)
- Blank earring studs (2)
- Scrap cardboard
- Paintbrush
- Fabric stiffener
- Strong craft or jewelry glue
- Metallic Spray Paint
1. Cut the fabric trim, snipping the flowers apart. You need two flower pieces for each pair of earrings.
2. Apply a liberal amount of fabric stiffener until both pieces are saturated with liquid. Leave to dry overnight.
3. Once dried and stiffened, spray paint in a well-ventilated area. Leave to dry according to the bottle’s directions.
4. Glue a rhinestone to the center of each flower.
5. Glue an earring post to the back of each flower.
6. Leave to dry overnight. Once dried, your earrings are ready for some summertime fun!
Crocheted fabric flower trim is sold by the yard. Some stores sell a few yards on a spool. Because you only need two flower pieces for this project, a strand of trim can go a long way. Make a pair of earrings for each of your friends – and a few extra for yourself! Remember, our gold and clear pairing is just an idea to start you off. Don’t be afraid to experiment.
Easy, right? Would you give this DIY a try? Let us know in the comments.
I remember using these same sort of fabric flowers to make doilies for my dollhouse when I was a little girl. I like your idea so much better! These earrings are absolutely adorable!
