Pic Heavy Review of the FabFitFun Fall 2014 VIP Box
Have I already told you that the FabFitFun box is my favorite subscription box of all? I have? Well, I’m about to tell you again. Or better yet, let me just SHOW you the fall VIP box and you can see why for yourself…
Look at all that lovely loot!
And, if you want one for yourself order it here with code: WeHeart10 and get $10 off! It’s regularly $49.99 with free shipping (which is a good deal) but with the we heart this hook up it’s only $39.99.
Let’s dive in, shall we?
There’s always at least one item that’s basically the cost of the box itself. In the fall box, it’s the Dermologica Skin Hydrating Booster ($56). How lucky for me that I always wanted to try this! You know when your skin just needs a little something more? This is for those times. It’s a concentrated fluid that you mix in to your moisturizer, or use on its own, to relieve dryness and really gives fine lines the what for.
The Chi 44 Iron Guard ($15) is a thermal syling aid with some pretty hefty science behind it. Ionic and cationic hydration interlink technology keeps styles from looking crunchy and positively-charged silk molecules interlock into hair’s natural structure to build strength and improve moisture and shine. I found it added a lot of texture to my hair when I flat ironed it (which is a good thing) and my very non-scientific assessment is that is smells really nice.
Remember how I told you there’s always at least one item that’s basically the cost of the box itself? Sometimes there are TWO! I couldn’t be more delighted with the Gramr Gratitude Co Thank You Cards, Sealing Wax and Wax Press set ($43). I am a big proponent of handwritten thank you cards (cards in general, actually) and can you imagine how special a recipient would feel if it arrived with a wax stamp on the outside? Kinda puts a text to shame, no?
They’ve got a great monthly subscription service too. Everything you need to send one thank-you note per week: four cards, cute envelopes and even a stamp to mail them for just $15 a month. I LOVE this.
I also love a good body butter. And the LaNatura Travel Size Body Butter ($15) is a stellar one. I love that Matcha Green Tea Leaf is the first ingredient. It smells incredible and the scent lasts all day. But it doesn’t just smell good, Matcha green tea has significant antioxidant properties, and protects skin from free radicals. This is a thick butter, one that you rub in your hands to melt then slather on your driest spots; perfect for the approaching winter.
I have semi-dry skin on my body, so I normally use a gentle body wash in the shower. This offering has me appreciating the classic bar of soap. This incredibly scented Juniper and Sage soap from The Honest Co. ($4.95, and yep, Jessica Alba’s line) not only foams nicely and cleans thoroughly, it also hydrates skin. This 84% organic soap is packed with coconut, olive and argan oils to moisturize and soothe winter-dry bodies.
Throw a lipgloss in the mix and I’m a happy girl. And there’s a lot to smile about with the Beauty for Real True Color Lip Cream ($22). The shade I recieved is Always There, a raspberry pink. It’s creamy, as promised, and I absolutely love that their website shows every shade on both light and dark skin tones.
And how great is this? It has a light in it for late night touch ups!
Beauty for Real True Color Lip Cream in Always There
The workout accessory you never knew you desperately need! These cute little Great Soles Pink Ribbon Ballet Barre Socks ($12) come in handy in so many ways. Having trouble holding your yoga positions? Embarrassed over the state of your pedi-less toes? Always have cold feet no matter how hard you work out? A pair of Great Soles socks has you covered! Slip on these cotton blend socks with elastic straps and forget about your feet, just concentrate on your workout.
The holiday party and baking season is upon us, and there is no reason you shouldn’t look fabulous while whipping up treats in the kitchen. The retro-inspired Jessis Steele Polka Dot Apron ($32) keeps your clothes clean and you looking sweet. This apron is a Jessie Steele best seller and features symmetrical waist pockets with removable grosgrain bows, a bias trimmed edge, scalloped he, and adjustable ties at the neck and waist. Now get cooking!
The New Year is just around the corner. For me, that means thinking about getting back in shape. And this three month membership from FitFusion ($29.97) is the perfect solution. Users can access tons of workout and fitness video content to steam almost anywhere; your laptop, desktop, Android device, iPad, Apple Tv – wherever! Choose from a slew of titles and get your kickboxing, yoga or weight training on in the privacy of your home. You’ll be in tip-top shape by the time the ball drops.
Last but not least, two delicious organic snackies from Mary’s Gone Crackers and Numi Organic Tea.
You see now? Favorite subscription box of all!
You weren’t kidding: I can’t believe how much awesome stuff is in this box. I like everything in there–not a single dud. And with the 10 bucks off? Yep, getting this.
This box DOES look fab! I agree with Amity–not a single dud! WOW.
Wow! What a bundle of awesomeness!
Whoa Nelly! That’s an awesome dealo! I love the stuff in this! Will partake and share! Thanks!
I just loved my box. I got the pink polka dot apron! The lipgloss is so prett . And the thank you notes with the sealing wax _ now I can look classy saying thanks! I got a lavender soap that smells heavenly! Thanks, Stef, for recommending this box! Its a winner!
The Beauty For Real lip gloss is worth it on it’s own!!! It’s a thick rich formula, and the fact that it has a mirror on the side of the tube and a light built in, for in the dark touch ups is AMAZING! I can’t tell you how many times I have needed that and used this already a ton. Highly recommend it!! What a inventive idea!
