The Best Blushes for the Blush Lover in Your Life
I love blush! We’re talking true love. A ’til death do us part love. Do you know someone that loves blush even half as much as me and you don’t know what to get her this holiday season? Let me guide you with my carefully curated Holiday Gift Guide of the Best Blushes for 2014.
Fair Warning: Many of these items are sold out – or they come back and sell out again quickly, so if you see any of these in stock, grab them as soon as you see them. Now let’s get shopping!
1. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette ($58)
This beauty contains three, nearly full-sized Ambient Lighting blushes (.11oz each compared to the standard size of .15oz) which are gorgeous and natural-looking hues blended with golden shimmer.
These blushes utilize Photoluminescent Technology, which basically means the end result is ethereal and lovely, soft and gorgeous. It’s fool-proof, universally flattering color.
This palette contains three shades:
Luminous Flush – Champagne rose
Mood Exposure – Soft plum
Incandescent Electra – Cool Peach (Exclusive to this limited edition palette)
Anyone who receives this is going to be one very happy girl!
2. Benefit Sweet Tintations ($26)
This combines my two great loves: blush and tinted lip balm. This set contains two liquid lip/cheek tints in Lollitint (a creamy orchid) and Original Benetint (sheer red flush) and two coordinating balms of the same name. This would pretty much be the most amazing stocking stuffer ever!
3. Stila Holiday Sets – Glow & Behold and Merry & Bright ($29 each)
left: Glow and Behold, right: Merry and Bright
These value sets from Stila each retail for $29 and are SO WORTH IT! I bought both of these as soon as I saw them. Each set contains an eyeliner, limited edition convertible color, lip glaze, and rhinestone headband. Glow & Behold is for a more natural look and Merry & Bright is for a more dramatic holiday look, so there’s a set for everyone!
Glow & Behold:
Convertible Color for Lips & Cheeks in Magnolia (a shade that was discontinued years ago and I mourned) – Sheer, brownish rose
Lip Glaze in Gleam – Sparkling mauve
Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner in Lionfish – Deep bronze sheen
Rhinestone headband – that’s right! a rhinestone headband
Merry & Bright:
Convertible Color for Lips & Cheeks in Tulip (a shade previously only available in the UK) – sheer, bright magenta
Lip Glaze in Glamour – Sparkling ruby
Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner in Purple Tang – Dark purple sheen
Rhinestone Headband
Is it weird that I wear my rhinestone headbands like a crown while I do housework? Don’t answer that.
4. Tarte Chick to Cheek Amazonian Clay Blush Set ($39)
This set is pretty much gone. But while it is not available online, I’ve seen it on the shelves at Ulta, so get out there and get it, ladies! This contains 4, limited edition shades that are stunning and long-wearing.
The set contains:
Amour – Candy pink
Classic – Soft, apricot pink
Prim – Plum nude
Daydream – Rosy pink
Shopping Tip: If you’re looking for these at Ulta, they’re usually on those towers down the main aisle and towards the bottom rack. I hope you’re able to find one for you or that special someone.
5. Laura Geller – Just Berry Blush and Lip Gloss Duo ($25)
Laura Geller kills it with her baked blushes. They impart the most natural, lovely flushes. This set contains one Blush-n-Brighten baked blush in Roseberry, a warm pink, and a Color Drenched lip gloss in Berry Crush, a medium berry. The set not only contains antioxidants and nourishing minerals, but it’s absolutely gorgeous and universally flattering, too.
6. Josie Maran Argan Infinity Lip and Cheek Creamy Oil ($16)
I’ve long been singing the praises of this lip and cheek color from Josie Maran for a while now and shall continue my tune! While I wish they offered limited edition shades in this duo, if you’re looking for a stocking stuffer or looking to get familiar with this product, this is a nice way to start. You only need a tiny dab to get glowing color.
The set contains:
Timeless Coral – sheer coral peach
Everlasting Honey – sheer nude
If you or the person you’re shopping for suffer from dry skin, especially during winter months, you will adore these. If you have oily skin, you will love how these don’t break you out and actually stay put.
7. Sterling Silver Cosmetic Brush
Go to Replacements, LTD, a sterling silver site and enter “cosmetic brush” in the search engine and the available ones will pop up. They currently have a sterling blush brush as low as $21.99, which is AMAZING.
Pair one with a blush from your blush lover’s favorite brand and you will be their new, favorite person! I have one of these in the Chantilly pattern and I always feel so fancy when I use it.
Be warned: these brushes sell out quickly during the holidays.
I could probably give you a bazillion other blush “must haves”, but then you would know the true extent of my sickness. I hope this list contains the perfect gift for the blush lover in your life. Happy Holidays!

Krista resides in the middle of nowhere with her bff/hubby and a puppy that makes feral capuchins seem mellow. She has an irrational fear of ax murder, owns more than one machete for home defense/the zombie apocalypse, and goes to sleep serenaded by the sounds of the Chupagobbler, a mythical turkey beast that roams the woods around her house. Krista has been in the Bermuda Triangle twice and still hasn’t vanished. She is super proud of that.

favorite beauty product: Blush, lots and lots of blush
I would TOTALLY recommend the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette. I wish I didn’t already own one of the colors or I’d totally get it :) The limited edition shade is beautiful though!
Oh Krista, I’m a sucker for blushes! I love Tarte brand and those sets look fantastic! I’ve never tried the Benetint, but have always been curious- Maybe I should just get one of each, just to be on the safe side.
Yes, @vyrleeblake, I think you should get one of each. For science. ;)
So many pretty options!
