Our Latest Adventure Will Let Us Have it All – And You Can Too!

Who says you can’t have it all? While Tyna’s beauty bounty fills her vanity, bathroom and closets, she’s the type to skip makeup most days – braving the streets of Los Angeles with a bare face. As for me, I live in one of the most relaxed hippie-towns in America (Joshua Tree, CA), but that doesn’t mean I skip high heels and glam makeup.

But it’s not just makeup that makes up our paradoxical paradise. We live in two of the most interesting places on earth, but as bloggers, we’re always busy. No problem! Rather than skipping anything, we just find interesting ways to fit work into our surroundings. For example, that’s me above settling down in the hammock to enjoying the desert sunset while researching our next story.

And our next story is the ideal example of truly having it all! We’re going glamping! We’re thrilled to announce we’ve been made Skinny Cow’s official Glamp Counselors for 2014! It’s a partnership that both of us are very excited about as Skinny Cow products are in our kitchens pretty much at all times, either in ice cream or candy form. They make it easy to indulge in the sweet life, without the guilt.

Our glamping trip will be the ultimate paradoxical paradise! Since we were raised in Pennsylvania, we know all about camping, but once we moved to California our vacations turned a bit more glamorous. Glamping at The Resort at Paws Up in Montana will let us experience it all!

Billed as a “crossroads of incomparable luxury and unspoiled wilderness” the Paws Up Resort takes your standard camping experience to a whole new level. While we will partake in the standard camping activities – campfires, hiking and the like – we will also be living in the lap of luxury – think cabins with a private hot tub, comfy featherbeds and a resident chef preparing sophisticated cuisine with a rustic flare.

We can not wait to share our glamping adventure with all of you! We’ll be back next week with all the details on just what a girls packs when she’s “gone glamping.” And you can follow us on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook to keep up with all the action during our stay May 1st through the 4th.

Best of all, you have a chance to go glamping too. Nine chances, actually! Skinny Cow invites you on the fun with their Girls Gone Glamping Sweepstakes. The grand prize is a weekend of glamping at the posh Resort at Paws Up on October 2-5, 2014 where you will enjoy 5-star tent accommodations, chic campfire cuisine and delicious views with two besties of your choice! Not to mention, oodles of prizes up for grabs with their instant win game. Visit Skinny Cow for all the details.

  1. I am so jealous!!!! I’ve never been glamping, but I’ve been camping a few times, and it’s never been good. The hubby and I have been talking about going camping at this one place nearby where you can camp and pan for gold–maybe this summer?

One of my least favorite times camping would be platform tent camping at Girl Scout camp where we weren’t allowed to put down our tent flaps for privacy and when our chaperones put their tent flaps down, a dozen tiny, hairless mouse babies fell out of the flaps. Ewwwwww…We were also promised horse back rides and instead got to sit on a donkey someone else led around a 1/4 mile track one time and were forced into 5 mile death marches/hikes. We were promised boating and swimming, but the closest I got to the water was when we hiked past it. Totally miserable experience.

Then there was another horrible camping trip during junior high where we were in 2 bunk-filled cabins with a connecting bathroom and room for our chaperone and our chaperone decided she was the only one allowed to use the bathroom we’d all paid for and made us hike 1/2 mile, through the woods, in the dark and without a flashlight, to where the communal bathroom/shower hut was. That lady was an a-hole.

Side note: Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches are pretty much the best thing ever. Seriously, EVER.

  2. This sounds so awesome! I am so excited for you all. And I am a huge fan of Skinny Cow. All of their products are just so delicious. I usually hate “diet food” but their candy and ice cream tastes so good!! You may skimp on calories with Skinny Cow but not on taste!!

  3. Glamping really does sound like the best of both worlds– nature/relaxation plus clean sheets/indoor plumbing! Throw in Skinny Cow (I LOVE their ice cream sandwiches) and you have a perfect vacation ahead of you. Can’t wait to read all about it. Bon voyage, girls!

  4. I want to slip inside your luggage, please! I swear, I’ll behave! Oh, and I love Skinny Cow!
I also love where you are heading too! I’m going to follow your every move! I cannot wait to see what you have to say about the place,, food and all you do.. not to mention all the pictures you’ll share!

  5. Glampling!! (I just love saying that…) I have never been, but I think it’d be right up my alley. I do like to camp, but it takes me a good three days to get really into it, and by then we’re heading home. But posh digs plus the beautiful outdoors? I’M IN.
