I’ve never been shy over my unabashed love for all things Benefit, so it’s no surprise one of their sparkling Holiday 2010 sets, Femme Metale is gift number eight on our list of Ten Last Minute Holiday Gifts at Sephora.
This collection ($38), an exclusive to Sephora, highlights one of Benefit’s best attributes, practically goof-proof makeup, and takes it in an slightly edgy, new direction with deeply pigmented, shimmering, rock-n-roll worthy color.
The founders of Benefit Cosmetics, twin sisters Jean and Jane Ford, are keeping it in the family, adding Jean’s daughters, Maggie and Annie to the team. Femme Metale is an offering from this year’s Maggie & Annie Holiday Collection and it infuses a bit of edgy drama with Benefits’ easy-breezy application style.
Femme Metale has all you need for eyes this party season, from a sultry smoky look with subtle shimmer or full on NYE worthy bling and includes three full size Creaseless Cream Eyeshadows and three mini Benefit Eyeliners, all in new, limited edition, metallic hues.
With the holiday season in mind, Femme Metale offers three new cream eyeshadow shades, Plum-ing For Gold a deep, metallic plum, Taupe-aztic, a metallic golden beige and Platinum, a metallic white that makes an amazing highlighter. These potted shadows retail for $19 each, making the $38 pricetag of this set a great holiday deal.
Benefit’s Creaseless Cream Eyeshadows are one of my very favorite products! The creamy colors glide onto lids, can be smudged into place and then dries to a soft, almost powdery finish.
Best of all, no brushes necessary! I find these little pots work best when blended with fingertips; the warmth of the skin helps it spread easily, without ever pulling or tugging skin. Plus, these Cream Shadows work overtime and can be used as a base/primer under other shadows and (with a flat brush) makes a standout eyeliner.
Speaking of which, the three mini eyeliners that round out this collection should not be overlooked! This was my first Benefit eyeliner and I love their super creamy consistency (even with the shimmer, these pencils are smooth) and long lasting formula. And the colors? Love them. The set includes Blinged, a shimmering silver, Gem-N-Eye, a golden olive shimmer, and, my favorite piece of all, Steel Her Date described as a steal blue shimmer. This blue liner is so rich and deep in color, distinctly blue (not blue-black) and with bits of sparkle that bring twinkling stars to mind.

I saw this in the store about a month ago and I had to control my impulses. It seems like such a wild theme – metallic! But the pieces in the set are so everyday and wearable!! That green pencil would look killer with my dark, dark hair!
Will be a great look for New Year’s Eve! Benefit is a favorite brand of mine…the packaging and the quality is always right on.
I love Benefit products, and this is such a pretty collection for the holidays. I don’t know how I missed this on my trip to Sephora yesterday. Oh well, now I have a great excuse to go back!
I’m a huge fan of Benefit products, especially their Creaseless Cream eyeshadows. I’ve used them as eye primer/base, eyeshadow, and even as eyeliner! Skinny Jeans is probably my favorite color…
This set looks fantastic, and it’s an absolute steal at $38… I might use some of my Christmas money to get it for myself! ;)
This set looks incredibly fun! I love the “blinged” eyeliner; who wouldn’t want to be an ice queen with silver rimmed eyes at the holiday parties? This has NYE written all over it.
@sherrishera – with all the crazy rain here in LA, I pulled out my sort of iridescent blue/green vintage, very mod raincoat – the silver liner will look so great with it.
And @LipglossandSpandex – Skinny Jeans is my favorite Eyeshadow too. If you love that, you should definitely look at Steal Her Date – it’s a really great true blue. I adore it.
@kate2004rock – the Gem-N-Eye liner is really beautiful. It’s not right for my coloring, but if you like golden greens and browns, this is amazing.
OMG, I want this set sooooo badly! I’m dreaming of a smoky eye with plum-ing for gold, paired with a shimmery gold lip. And I don’t even like plums (Or I should say, plums don’t like me). Benefit creme shadows are probably my favorite formulas too. LOVE!
Everything in this set is calling my name. I’m especially loving that Plum-ing for Gold cream shadow–it looks like the right shade of plum that makes the green in my hazel eyes pop…This set is too gorgeous for words!
What a great set! The packaging is so cute, (yes, I am a sucker for packaging!)
Benefit’s creaseless shadows are so easy to apply-This looks like a must have to get New Years Eve going!
I use Benefit creaseless shadow as eyeliner almost every day. I LOVE this set and I want it! I can’t wait for my after xmas shopping trip.
I saw this in the store and drouled over it! So nice and good for everyday..Look at it! So adorable all around!
Having just gotten back from a week in the Caribbean let me tell you- easy going eye products are a necessity. While traveling I found myself reaching more often than not for products that didn’t need brushes for application, and products that would hold up against the heat and humidity of December on the islands (haha, I know, I know, poor me!).
Best of all, I really like the eyeliner colors in this set. They’re so unique yet wearable! Love it.
