My brows are one of my favorite features—despite the torture of over-tweezing back in my teenage years, these lush beauties persevered and grew back in full force. Or so I’d have everyone believe. That’s right, folks, my brows are probably 25% smoke and mirrors. Thanks to IT Cosmetics and their latest edition of Brow Power Super Skinny–it’s now easier than ever to fake what your mama gave you!

These waterproof brow pencils are like the old and beloved Brow Power pencils, but as the name implies, they are super skinny. The pencil side sports a 1.4mm tip, perfect for recreating individual hairs. The other side contains a brow brush, perfect for blending and grooming your brows. From 80’s Brooke Shields to 40’s Joan Crawford, IT Cosmetics Brow Power Super Skinny ($24) has got you covered!

These pencils have a slightly harder consistency that gives you better control of how much product you apply and the depth of color. Press lighter for a hint of color, press harder for a darker tint. No matter what, this somehow deposits exactly the right amount of product. I know some of you are hesitant to mess around with your brows, but let me tell you—this is probably the most natural brow pencil I’ve ever used. It really looks like your own brows, but better.

I am a very dark haired brunette with almost black eyebrows and I got to test Universal Dark Brown and Universal Gray. I know you’re probably wondering “Why Universal Gray? You’re a brunette!”–but trust me, ladies, it works. This pencil blends seamlessly and matches my brow hair as well as the Universal Dark Brown. It actually looks a smidge more natural, so if you’re afraid of brow pencils, Universal Gray might be a nice way to ease into things without worrying you’ve overdone it. As for Universal Dark Brown–this is the rare dark brown brow pencil that doesn’t look overdone. Many brands either have too soft a pencil or too much pigment and this beauty is just right.

Overall, I am a fan of this newest product from IT Cosmetics. Honestly, the only place I can find for criticism is the price point–it’s $24, just like the other brow pencils from IT. However, you’re getting only .003 oz. of product, which is around half as much product as the other pencils from this brand. The best solution I can come up with is to get the 2 for $26.36 deal that QVC has right now–you’re welcome!

  1. The whole array of pencils looks so appealing to me… like you could fix or enhance anyone’s brows with this variety of colors. My brows are dark like yours, so thanks for this great review. The QVC deal is mighty tempting!

    1. I really think you’d like them, @turboterp! As someone with dark brows, you know that “just filling in” your brows can end up with you looking like Joan Crawford with the wrong pencil :O

  2. Oooh I looooove the brushed metal look of the packaging! Seriously, who has ever seen brow product packaging that is that lovely?! And the colors look fabulous–I love seeing such a great range and spot-on shades. Good brows are SO important. Way to go, IT Cosmetics!

  3. Wow these look great, I really like the medium brown, I feel like that’s a perfect match for me, and I’ve always liked IT Cosmetics too so I will have to check these out!

  4. I loved my IT pencil! The super skinny, slightly waxy stick reminded me of another fave: NARS. The skinny pencil lets me feather the strokes in a very natural way.The spoolie on the end is bonus. I don’t need it if I’ve got all my brushes with me, but if I’m traveling, that’s one less thing to worry about. I tried the auburn which was a little too red. I have brown hair with natural red highlights. Sometimes I do color it a shade of red, but my brows are dark brown and kind of sparse and this shade looked a wee bit off. Other than that, I would definitely buy another.

  5. These are AMAZING. Totally natural looking. The tiny size is perfect for faking hairs. And it’s long wearing too. Once my brows are on, they’re on until I take them off. I tried both blonde shades: Universal Blonde and Universal Warm Blonde and the Blonde is perfect for me. I’ve been using a very similar pencil from Kevyn Aucoin, which I love too but IT has so many more colors to choose from (I think twice as many). So, you’re more likely to find a match here.

  6. Hi . I am curious for these brow pencils and I wonder how these compare to the Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil and the Anastasia Brow Wiz? Which one it thinnest and which one is better?
