And a big shout out for the IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Wand Ball Powder Brush

This year, late March brought the trifecta of St. Patrick’s Day, my birthday and Easter within a 10 day period. Although I had lots of fun, I have to admit this onslaught of festivities took a toll on my complexion.

You’d never know it, though, because I’ve been testing IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Pressed Poreless Finishing Powder ($29). This compact of finely-milled, translucent powder blurs away all the signs of too many late nights in a quick swoop or two. Dark circles, visible pores, blotchy color… poof. “It’s like airbrushing in a compact,” IT Cosmetics proclaims, and they aren’t kidding!

You may already be using the award-winning loose powder version of Bye Bye Pores. Its talc-free formula and anti-aging properties make it a finishing powder that won’t settle into fine lines or pores. That alone is “anti aging” as far as I’m concerned! Have you ever used a powder that did the opposite? I have, and trust me, one glance in the mirror in bright sunlight made me want to scream. Loudly.

With Bye Bye Pores products, I know I can dust away to my heart’s content with no fear. This new compact version has all of the original’s features in a portable form. Bye Bye Pores is created with peptides, real silk, hydrolyzed collagen, and the optically blurring effect IT Cosmetics calls “Drops of Light Technology.” The powder is buildable but translucent enough that it does not clump even with repeated applications. The matte formula works on all skin tones and types.

The compact comes with a handy sponge for on-the-go touchups, and this works well in a pinch. But at home, I’ve had the added joy of testing IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Wand Ball Powder Brush ($48).

This baby is unlike any powder brush I’ve ever owned, and it’s revolutionized my routine. Instead of my old, densely-bristled powder brush that picks up a lot of product, the Heavenly Luxe is softer and painstakingly hand-shaped. The brush head is created from 61,650 loosely-packed hairs that are trimmed into the perfectly round ball shape. Like all IT Cosmetics products, the brush is 100% Cruelty Free.

The Heavenly Luxe Wand Ball is the brush I reach for when I don’t want too much color payoff. It delivers a light touch of any pressed or loose powder, highlighter, bronzer or blush. “Heavenly” is a fitting name for a brush that feels this cloud-soft. It picks up the precise amount of powder to give Bye Bye Pores its famed finish. No more wasting product, either; I don’t need to shake excess powder off my brush thanks to the placement of the bristles.

Even when I’m not exactly perky, the combination of Bye Bye Pores Pressed Poreless Finishing Powder and the Heavenly Luxe Wand Ball Powder Brush is helping me look like I’ve airbrushed my troubles away.

  1. I have been curious about the Bye Bye Pores but hadn’t picked it up yet. I like the new pressed format! Might just have to pick it up

  2. Oooh, I’m not sure if I want the powder more, or the brush–this review is making both sound verrrrry tempting! I forever love Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer and the Vitality Lip Flush 4-IN-1 Reviver Lipstick Stain.

    1. If you order them from qvc, you can get both for only $38.13. It an amazing deal!!

  3. IT is the best!!! IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Wand Ball Powder Brush has me really wanting this! I love every dang thing from this line! love Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer too!!!!

  4. Great post, @turboterp! I am super excited to try this powder–I am so pale that translucent powders like this are my best friend. Too often if I try to match my skin tone, I end up with a powder that’s a shade too dark and then I just look like a hot mess :/ lol

  5. I love It Cosmetics, everything I have tried I love and I definitely am always looking for a pore minimizer. I just have a hard time because between, primer, concealer, foundation and bronzer, I never seem to have room for a powder ?

    1. Wow.. you have the most beautiful smile!
      What a great photo!
