Two of France’s best exports: Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk and Soothing Make-Up Remover Wipes
I’m going to level with you…I’m lazy when it comes to skin and hair care. Like, REALLY lazy. And as I’ve gotten older with a busy “grown up” schedule and time became a precious commodity, the situation seems to have only gotten worse. But thanks to Klorane Laboratories – makers of fantastic and convenient green products – I’ve found I have a fast, simple way to take care of my skin and hair and still save time!
Founded in the 1960s, this beloved French brand was one of the first companies to bring herbal shampoos and hair care to the masses. These botanically enriched, gentle formulas were a big departure from the harsh, even damaging products sold in the aisles of drugstores at the time.
Today, Klorane has expanded beyond hair and into skin care, yet they continue to produce natural and gentle formulas while using only pure plant extracts. After using two Klorane products for a few weeks I’m convinced that Klorane is doing exactly as they promise; combining what they describe is the “best of nature” with the “best of science.”
First up, the Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk ($18). This was my first foray into dry shampoos but the idea intrigued me, as I’m someone who never goes a day without washing my hair because of how oily it becomes. But with a quick few spritzes of the Gentle Dry Shampoo and my hair was revitalized!
Made with soothing oat milk, cleansing cornstarch and oil absorbing microspheres, this shampoo really made a difference – my hair had more volume and was definitely less oily. It also had a nice, fresh smell that lingered for a bit but then dissipated leaving my hair odor free.
Best of all a dry “hair wash” is fast and easy; just apply a few spritzes of the Gentle Dry Shampoo around the crown, let it sit for two minutes, then brush out and through your hair. And while it does spray on slightly powdery white, never fear dark haired lasses! Once brushed my hair looked totally normal and thankfully not like I had been rolling around in flour.
While the dry shampoo was nice, it was the Soothing Make-Up Remover Wipes with Cornflower that I really loved!
These wipes made cleansing my face possible, when I was just too lazy for a full-in bathroom sink face wash. The touted French grown cornflower did exactly as promised; it soothed and calmed skin, reduced puffiness and left my whole face feeling hydrated and clean. The generously sized, super soft wipes did a nice job of removing dirt and gunk, even make-up.
Plus, since these wipes have a pH balance similar to tears and are ophthalmologist tested; they are truly gentle and won’t irritate even the most sensitive of eyes. And unlike other wipes with heavy perfume or soapy scents, these wipes are refreshing with their simple, clean smell. The best part though is that you can find these French favorites at your local drugstore! You’ll find a package of 25 Soothing Make-Up Removal Wipes for only $10.99 at Walgreens!
I think Klorane products have found a place in my daily routine, not only for their great nourishing and cleansing properties but also for how easy and convenient they are to use!

I’ve been meaning to try Klorane Dry Shampoo. I’ve been on a dry shampoo kick lately and have been using Tresemme, Suave, and Psst dry shampoo, but want to try Klorane because it gets better reviews overall.
I’ve heard Psst is pretty good. I’m curious to try that brand and compare it to Klorane now that I’ve had my first foray into dry shampoos.
I love the Klorane line and have always wanted to try their dry shampoo..now I can add the wipes to my list!
Dry shampoo fascinates me. I can’t use it because “curly hair” and “brushing out” do not mix, but I always read the reviews for them in hopes that I’ll remember to purchase one for when I stop being lazy and start straightening my hair again. This one definitely sounds like a winner! (Although, what is “oat milk” exactly? Sounds fancy…)
However, facial wipes I know ALL about and these sound GREAT, @kari! I love that they’re so gentle, that’s my biggest peeve about most facial wipes is that they sting! I do have a question about the cloth itself, what’s its texture like? Even when I find a facial cloth that doesn’t irritate, the cloth texture tends to be scratchy…
Oooh, yeah, brushing out curly hair = bad. Unless you’re going for some crazy fro look :)
The cloth texture was actually one of the first things I noticed. Not only are they large, but soft! I’ve used other brands that have are scratchy but these actually felt like they were made from cotton. Very nice and gentle.
@lyssachelle, I don’t have curly hair, but just wanted to let you know that I don’t actually brush dry shampoo into my hair–I have the Oscar Blandi non-aerosol dry shampoo, and sprinkle some onto my hands, rub my hands together, and gently rub my hands onto my hair. I have straight hair but this seems to work pretty well for me.
@kari, great review! $11 for 25 makeup wipes is a little too spendy for me, but they sound amazing.
Great review Kari! I am really drawn in my the facial wipes being so gentle and soothing. This sounds like a MUST for my travel bag.
Thanks Holly! I can’t recommend the wipes enough! I’ve tried a number of other brands, but I think this definitely tops my list now due to the cloth texture, clean scent and gentleness. I loved that I could wipe my eye makeup off and had no stinging. These would be great for travel!
I should mention that I’m giving both of these products 5 stars. The dry shampoo has literally changed my daily routine in a good way! I hated that I felt like I had to wash my hair every day, but Klorane does a great job of removing the oil and leaving my hair feeling refreshed.
But the wipes! I love the wipes! These are seriously the best I’ve ever used. My skin always felt clean and vibrant again after using them. It made my nightly routine super quick!
I love Klorane’s dry shampoo! I don’t think I’ve tried this exact one, (mine was a squeeze tube, all powder one), so maybe this is the updated version. I can’t wait to try this one out, because I had really good results with the last one!
wow they sell Klorane at Walgreens? Good to hear – I live near 2! I want to try the wipes very badly. I am a faithful Ponds user but I welcome new makeup wipes from time to time :)
Great review @kari – I love these kind of wipes! I keep a pack in my bed side table for whenever I’m too tired/lazy to wash my face before bed. Good to know these are a good option (I agree with @lyssachelle – there’s nothing worse then ones that sting!)
You keep wipes in your bedside table?? Genius! I think you just blew my mind…I don’t know why I never thought oh that, especially considering all the times I felt too lazy to yet up.
I LOVE wipes, I’m way too lazy way too often, haha. But I’ve always felt kinda bad about how the disposable wipe was effecting the environment. How wonderful to know that there is a greener alternative! And at Walgreens!! Thanks @Kari !
I love dry shampoos. My hair is superfine and oily so washing is a must everyday…except that leaves squeaky clean hair that’s a bitch to style. Dry shampoos not only create texture and volume and soak up excess oil. I haven’t tried this one, but I’m game!
