Looking for reviews on the Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes? Here’s our take.

While I don’t consider myself a mascara connoisseur, I am VERY particular. I’ve decided at this point in my life – why waste time on a mascara I don’t like? If I was running a personal ad for mascara it would look something like this:

Girl seeks mascara. Must give long lashes that could easily be mistaken for spider’s legs. Volume isn’t so important, but clumpers and giant brushes need not apply.

Yep, I know what I like. Want to know what I like? Lancome Hypnose Doll Lash Mascara ($25).

What exactly are Doll Lashes, you ask? (I did.) It’s a flirty, wide eyed look. Think doe eyes, volume and length in one pretty look. And Lancome’s latest gives you just that.

The brush is on the larger side, but the pointy cone shape makes it easier to wield than the most of the big ol’ brushes that I’ve seen lately. The tiny tip easily fits into the corner lashes. Plus, the bristles seem to a bit sparser, which I found worked really well for keeping clumps to a minimum (as you’re not getting too much mascara on the wand).

Also adding to keeping clumps at bay, the formula. It’s on the thin side. There’s nothing I hate more that a thick mascara that’s practically clumped on the wand before you even get it up to your lashes. Not the case with Doll Lashes. You get just the right amount of mascara, in a “just right” formula that’s ready to wow you.

Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes Before & After

pretty impressive with one coat, no?

And wow me, it did. Without a ton of fussing either. It’s easy to apply, looks good with one coat and didn’t require combing.

How’s it do that?

They dub it “FiberShine” and it coats evenly and curls your lashes, lifting them for that bright eye dolly look that really is just so pretty. I did notice some added volume. Not a ton, and that suited me just fine, as I much prefer length to volume. But if you like that thick look, you may be left wanting more.

But for me? Color this doll happy with her new mascara.

  1. I was so happy to see this review, because now I don’t need to describe to anyone why I love Hypnose Doll Lash so much. I’ll just tell them to take a look at @stef ‘s lashes in the after photo!

I love the shape of the brush, and the tube itself is kind of “toy like.” It reminds me of a bubble wand! And Lancome offers amazing Gifts With Purchase, so I don’t mind paying the premium price so much.

  2. oooooh! That is a clever little brush! I like the looks of it. I’m also looking constantly for nice mascara and I’ll defintely check this one out! Thanks for the post – I’ve always been a Lancome fan so I’m not surprised you loved this @stef!

  3. Love the looks of this brush. I haven’t tried this mascara before, but it sounds great. Your lashes look gorgeous @stef!

  4. Thanks for the review @stef! I’ve been seeing the ads for this in all the fall magazines and was really curious whether it works or not.

  5. The results look gorgeous and I love mascaras that “curl” lashes, my only question is how was this for longevity? I have been searching for a Holy Grail mascara that curls, but all the ones I’ve been trying MELT on me within a few hours. I hate looking like a raccoon/Uncle Fester by midday. It’s not a pretty look for me :P

  6. I so hear you on mascaras that are already clumpy on the brush – that’s bad enough – but I also waste half the tube cleaning the wand every stroke. Love the sound of the Doll Lash formula – I’m fine with the thickness of my lashes and looove super lenghthening mascaras.

And that brush? Looks awesome. Adding this to my list of items to check out this weekend at Saks at the SCP.

  7. Looks like another mascara I have to try! Your lashes look awesome and I along with everyone else am really digging the shape of the brush because I often try to get the outer ends especially coated.

  8. I have been looking for a new mascara! I am definitely going to have to try this one. Thanks for posting this :)

  9. Cute bottle and interesting brush shape. I haven’t tried a Lancome mascara in YEARS but this is really cute!
