That and more in The Lipstick League, week of 7.25.16

Question of the Week: it’s a two-parter this week! Name the last beauty product you finished, and one beauty product in your stash that you know you will never finish.

Answer: Last product finished is L’Oreal Blow Dry It Quick Dry Primer Spray ($4.99). This is a must-have for me because it cuts down my blowdry time significantly. Product I’ll never finish is Eucerin Original Healing Soothing Repair Crème ($11.99 for 16 oz) not because it’s not great, it is. It’s because you literally need a pea size amount for two elbows (or any other super dry part of your body.) I’ve had this for 3 years and have barely made a dent in it.

Here’s what was up with the League this week…

Gouldylox – I spent last weekend at CosmoProf and while I’m overwhelmed by the entire experience, I learned something really valuable about myself and found a mantra that changes how I think about food. Could it help you, too?

My Beauty Bunny – Rumor is this palette is an out of this world, glitter-lovers dream come true! See our verdict: Urban Decay Moondust Palette Review, Swatches & Tutorial

My Newest Addiction – Laura has been in Hawaii all week, so it is only fitting that she share a hair tutorial on Big Beachy Waves.

Olive & Ivy – How cute is this super easy mermaid nail art? Totally doable for beginners (like myself!)

Phyrra – Feeling fatigue from all the makeup palettes coming out? I bring you a little levity with a new Anti-Haul video!

we heart thisPut some Browder of your brows! They’ll look a lot bretter…er…better!

Beautygeeks – tells a tale of a stinking-hot airport, a West Jet system shut-down, a two-hour (plus 1.5 more) lineup, and the magic that revived the spirits and humour of 20 weary beauty editors.

Blushing Noir – Bring on the nostalgia with the MAC Good Luck Trolls makeup collection!

EauMG – has found the perfect beach musk perfume! It smells like manoï on warm skin.

Gouldylox is Currently Craving: I love lipsticks and when I find a formula that rocks my world, I want to collect them all. In this case, it’s the new Amuse Bouche lipstick from Bite Beauty. The color Kimchi was my BFF last week and while I can’t wear that color daily, I don’t want to wear any other formula right now.

we heartsters – what was the last beauty product you finished? And one you never will?

  1. –what was the last beauty product you finished? MAC Matchmaster foundation. And I’m almost finished with IT Cosmetics Pores No More pressed powder!
–one you never will? I try to either use it, or give it away because things only have so long of a shelf life! The only items I keep foreverrrr are perfumes.

  2. Name the last beauty product you finished:
Last drop of Clarins’ Super Restorative Day Cream- this stuff is GOLD!

One beauty product in your stash that you know you will never finish:
Neutrogena’s Body Oil – have loved it forever, but it never seems to deplete!

  3. What was the last beauty product you finished? I whipped through a bottle of Clinique Beyond Perfection Foundation + Concealer, and it usually takes me forever to kill foundation. But I like this so much that I used it pretty much every day–such a nice finish and great coverage, but still lightweight.

One beauty product you know you will never finish? OMG, hard to pick just one. Probably every eye palette EVER. And a huge bottle of Tarte Maracuja oil–that sucker is going to the grave with me, probably.

  4. First, I want to say . . . doesn’t everyone have the intent of using up the entire product when we buy it? I have never bought one thing thinking . . . I am going to use 30% of this.

I totally emptied IT Cosmetics, Bye Bye Redness. I have used up the entire Catnip Bronzer by Cat Cosmetics numerous times. I think I have purchased at least 5 over the years.

  5. I really liked the quick dry hair primer as well. I went through a couple bottles until my current love (also Loreal) made it kind of obsolete. I keep it on hand, though, just in case.
