You often dream that a limited edition product will become permanent. But how often does it really happen? This is one time that it did…

Last spring, I reviewed the L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Gloss. At the time, they were a new, limited edition product that sounded like a bit of a science experiment–matte gloss? But the formula was totally awesome, and they flew off the shelves. By the time I had tested out the product and my review was posted, it was nearly impossible to find one! Thankfully, the makeup gods at L’Oreal heard our pleas and they been merciful–they have added all six original shades to their permanent line, AND they’ve added four more shades as well!

I had the opportunity to try out three of the new L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Gloss shades.

Rebel Rose – stunning fuchsia rose

Shanghai Scarlet – bold classic red

Honestly, I can’t pick a favorite–it just depends on what I’m in the mood for, and all three shades are gorgeous. I originally reviewed Fuchsia Amnesia, Rouge Envy and Tantalizing Tangerine, and all three of those colors were amazing as well–I don’t think there’s a dud in the bunch!

Nude Allude – nude red (sounds odd but that’s really what it is!)
Bare Attraction – medium nude
Statement Nude – dark nude
Blushing Ambition – warm pink
Rebel Rose – fuchsia rose
Fuchsia Amnesia – hot pink
Rouge Envy – berry
Shanghai Scarlet – bold classic red

The “whipped” formula for these highly-pigmented lip colors is truly dreamy. It just glides on to your lips, and the flocked teardrop-shaped applicator allows precision where you need it, as well as larger strokes of color.

I personally think that the finish is more of a satin-matte-ish than truly matte, but it can be further mattified by blotting your lips a tad. For me, the cherry on top of it all, is that it feels so comfortable on my lips. Although it doesn’t quite wear *all day long* for me, and it does transfer a bit, but I don’t mind reapplying.

The liquid lip color is fragranced, and although that can be a total deal-breaker for me, I don’t mind this particular scent, and it does fade a bit after you apply. This formula is something that I would really expect to see from some prestige brand at a higher price point, so the $9.99 MSRP seems very reasonable.

Who else was super stoked to see these come back on the shelves as a permanent product? And if you love bold liquid lip colors and you missed out on these the first time around, I would recommend checking these out!

  1. I was so excited to hear these are permanent! Bare Attraction will be mine as of this weekend–what a fabulous medium nude! I’m a pale gal, so I need deeper hued nude lip colors or I look like a ghost. Great post, @lipglossandspandex! Love your hair color in these pics! :)

  2. I love these glosses–they are so comfy, and they last me for a good 4-5 hours. Also, loving the crimson brows and hair: super striking!
