The ‘It Color” of summer is glamming up the holiday season!
‘Tis the season for losing my self-control: less visits to the gym, more sweets on my plate, and a whole lot of shopping going on. Thanks to MAC Cosmetics, I’ve already started caving in to the holiday season and its endless temptations. That’s because this year, MAC has created an especially gorgeous array of holiday gift sets that are filling me with not-so-secret desire.
MAC’s Guilty Passions, the most covet-worthy collection of kits for lips and eyes, are packaged in scrumptious pastel hat box containers. These girlie boxes alone would spell temptation trouble for me, but the treats nestled inside are even more irresistible.
I tested a gloss lover’s dream, the Guilty Passions: 4 Cocktail Coral Lip Gloss kit ($32.50), which includes four just-this-side-of-normal glosses in three formulas in coral-iffic colors.
On the Scene, Sublime Shine, Geo Pink, Out for Glamour
MAC even has the bow covered – On the Scene, Sublime Shine, Geo Pink, Out for Glamour
On the Scene Cremesheen Glass – creamy, milky peach with pink and white pearl. This transparent, slightly milky peach looks extremely light in the tube, but is sheer enough to work on anyone. The formula is smooth, glossy and moisturizing.
Sublime Shine Dazzleglass Creme – orange peach with gold glitter. A warmer wash of soft orange shine that packs some serious glitter.
Geo Pink Cremesheen Glass – darkened strawberry pink shimmer. My early favorite, Geo Pink is the most pigmented of the glosses. It’s a subtle mid-tone neutral shimmer that I’ve been reaching for day and night.
Out For Glamour Dazzleglass – A barbie-sort of yellow pink with magenta glitter. A combination of colors that results in a bright, sheer bubblegum pink sparkle.

I love the combination of formulas in this kit – two versatile Cremesheen glosses for subtle shine, and two mega-glitter Dazzleglass/Dazzleglass Creme glosses to sparkle the night away. The Cremesheen comes with doe footed applicators, the Dazzleglass with a little brush.

The range of these four colors would give any coral lover on your list anything she could possibly want – from a barely perceptible wash of color to the kind of special occasion sparkle that can make your holiday lips bright. Though those who prefer their corals more on the bright Palm Beach Granny side may be disappointed.
On the Scene and Sublime Shine
Finally, if you’re not a coral fan, there are two other Guilty Passions lip kits available; Nicely Nude and Lavish Rose, both with a similar mix of Cremesheen, Dazzleglass and Dazzleglass Creme formulas. And when you think about it, at $32.50 for four generously sized glosses and the cutest reusable box ever, you have nothing to feel guilty about!

LOVE this set! The lip glosses in here are perfect for any gal. Based on the swatches, I see a perfect palette. And the bows! That’s what’s making me love the new MAC holiday sets as well. The boxes are perfect for holding jewelry and trinkets. Great review @turboterp
Great Review! I really am drawn to the Coral set. I love that packaging. I am sure these will go quick– like everything holiday at MAC!
These are great “neutral work” lipglasses for me, however I’d probably pass on buying On the Scene on it’s own as it looks a little too milky for me. Otherwise very nice and cute packaging!
LOVE the colors in this set, it is for sure being added to my list!
The MAC holiday lipgloss sets are really GUILTLESS! As with their collections in the past, EACH of these “mini” tubes actually contains MORE product than a single full sized product!!! It’s an incredible value–I bought last year’s neutral/coral set and was really glad I did :)
This set is utterly adorable. I’d absolutely save the round box for jewelry storage, and I’d smile every time I’d pull out a lil’ tube with the bow on it. But that line above that says “Though those who prefer their corals more on the bright Palm Beach Granny side may be disappointed” – I actually wrote that. Because this set just isn’t coral enough for me. Coral is a slippery slope, once you’re on it you just want more, more, MORE coral! But that being said, I think this set is perfect for people who only dabble in coral.
I love that you said that, @stef! I’m a coral dabbler, which is why this set is PERFECT for me. Honestly, I thought it was the nude set at first; I was so busy looking at the pictures that when I went back to read the text I was surprised! And that box! I want, I want, I want!
I’d love one girlie box to dablle in, right here cute, love this set.. it’s very pretty and just enough coral for me! Great review too, @turboterp!!
As a coral dabble-er I am loving the shades in this set! But like everyone else, I think I’m even more smitten by the little bows on the glosses and the hat box. I want that little pink box so bad! WHat can I say, I’m a packaging whore. Hee.
“I think this set is perfect for people who only dabble in coral.” @Stef, you CRACK ME UP. Hahahaha. You’re right, these are more on the coral-tinted side than on the CORAL COLOR TO THE FACE variety. :P
OMG…the bows…I DIE…The glosses look too pale for the likes of this ghost-like girl, but this would be perfect for my bff…that Geo Pink shade kind of wants to be mine, though…
