Summer shades even a mermaid would love!
MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Summer 2013 is here with an aquatic treasure chest of new, bright, long-lasting colors! “Bold new smudge-proof hues for eyes and lips” is how MUFE describes them, but there is so much more to this aquatically appealing collection.
Aqua Summer brings us new hues for lips (Aqua Rouge long-wear lip color and Aqua Lip smudge-proof lip pencil) and eyes (Aqua Cream crease-free color and Aqua Eyes defining pencils). Their tried-and-true formulas are as flawless as ever, while the colors will bring out the inner mermaid in anyone.
Aqua Rouge ($24) has five new vibrant, summery shades, one more beautiful than the next and we got are hands on two of the latest hues:
#16 Fuchsia – a blazing hot pink with blue undertones
#18 Coral – a medium, bright coral with gold shimmer
Look how pretty in the sunlight!
The packaging is classic MUFE, the double-ended Aqua Rouge features a sponge tipped applicator of color on one end and a clear gloss/sealer on the other side.
They both applied evenly to my lips, then the color seemed to lock in place. The clear gloss sealed the deal and added mositure. After I tried to blend #16 with my pinky, I couldn’t remove the stain from my fingertip without major scrubbing with makeup remover. MUFE isn’t messing around when they claim Aqua Rouge is a long-wear lip color.
Meanwhile, Aqua Cream ($23) offers three new crease-free colors and my eyes got the mermaid treatment with Aqua Cream #52, a gorgeously multi-hued Pearly Green Lagoon.
The cream shadow goes on as a sheer wash of green, which can be built for more pigmented coverage – as long as you work fast. The color sets in well under a minute, and after that, it isn’t budging. No matter how hot the day is, Aqua Cream remains bright and true, on land or at sea.
Aqua Eyes ($19) introduces us to two versatile colors that won’t run or smudge in summer heat and we laid our hands on #25L Matte Brown, a medium cocoa.
This is a classic eye lining shade – dark enough to add some drama to your look, but not so dark that it seems harsh in the bright light of day. The Aqua Eyes pencil applies like a dream – super smoothly without any resistance or tugging at the lash line. Again, if you want to smudge, you’ll have to act fast. This liner locks onto lids and then lasts and lasts – through sun, sweat, water and more.
Aqua Cream #52 Pearly Green Lagoon, Aqua Eyes #25L Matte Brown
Pros:
• Smudge-proof formulas hold up in summer heat and humidity
• Lip products are lightweight yet flawlessly long-lasting– even after an entire day of wear, I had to scrub to get them off
• Unlike most lip stains, Aqua Rouge is not drying to the lips (as long as you use the clear coat!)
• Eye products contain evaporating oils and a special filmogen polymer to set pigments and keep moisture out
• Available on Sephora.com or at MUFE Boutiques
Cons:
• Because these products do not budge once the color has set, you have to work fast and be very careful to get an even application the first time
With the classic formulas we know and love, and a whole new range of mermaid-worthy hues, MUFE has created a release that I cannot resist. I’m already planning another addition to my Aqua collection (hello there, Pearly Pastel Green Aqua Cream).
we heartsters – Is the siren song of MUFE’s Aqua Summer calling your name?

Holy crap, I want everything here…EVERYTHING!
Love how detailed this is–it’s important to know that these don’t dry your lips out (the bane of us lip-stain lovers)! And that mermaid-y green against the chocolate…beautiful!
MUFE is awesome. I have one of their cream shadows, and it’s great. I’d love to try the long wearing lip color, especially if @amity says it doesn’t dry your lips out!
Oooo! I am in love!
I may get into trouble with the fast-setting cream shadow, but it seems well worth the risk. The fushia lip color is perfect for summer!
Great post!
I was going to say just what @Krista just said! I want and like them ALL! Nice stuff over there at MUFE! Eyeliner pencils are really sweet!
I love the Pearly Lagoon and Coral, such beautiful summer colors. And with the recent hot weather a no-budge make-up is awesome.
I with everyone else, I love everything here! The colors are fabulous and I’ve never tried their lip stains, so I’m happy to hear they last and have a gloss covering to give them some shine!
MUFE’s Aqua products are hard to beat. And I love to use something that I know was originally developed for the Parisian water ballet. Makes me feel all Oh la la.
Their eyeliners are my absolute favorite. HG eyeliners for sure.
Loving the coral lip color paired with the pearly green lagoon cream eye shadow! However, your review has really made me covet the long lasting, heat proof, smudge proof liner that does look really smooth in the swatch picture. Thanks for sharing!
I love what I’m seeing here! The lip colors are so juicy and perfect pops of color. I must check out this eyeliner though…What a perfect brown. This post further reminds me that I need to get on that Aqua Cream bandwagon :)
