I have been excited about the MAC Ellie Goulding launch since I first heard about it way back in June. And it did not disappoint. Maybe it’s because she’s blonde. Maybe it’s because she’s British (I’m an honorary Brit by marriage, or at least I think I am!) But I am feeling this collection. Like, I want the ENTIRE launch. It’s a beautiful, warm, neutral dream.

I am feeling this collection. Like, I want the ENTIRE launch.

And can I get a what what! for special packaging? It just makes me happy. I mean, shiny patent black, with a rose gold Gucci/Chanel-esque logo, debossed into the products when possible? Can you stand it?

In addition to the products I got to try, the collection has two double decker palettes, Halcyon Days (four cream colour bases paired a large Medium Dark Blot powder) and Halcyon Nights (four eye shadows and one cream colour base). These both create a big sense of “need” in me. ($44 each)

Here’s what I got a close look at…

I received MAC Ellie Goulding Without Your Love lipstick ($18) a light, warm pink with a Cremesheen finish. Although this is semi sheer, it gives beautiful pale coverage, a not-quite-nude, if you will! I love this so much I’m considering a back-up. It’s the kind of shade I live for with a smoky eye. It’s got a great shine to it too.

The MAC Ellie Goulding Revved Up Patentpolish Lip Pencil ($21) is for chubby pencil lovers everywhere. (Though this pencil lover does wish it was pointed.) The shade is a beautiful golden peach with a fine gold shimmer. Nice pigment and shine with one swipe. This is a permanent shade.

I heart Plushglass. It’s my favorite plumper! So I was super excited to see MAC Ellie Goulding Goodness Gracious Plushglass ($21). With a slightly tingling billowy feel, it plumps and hydrates. The shade is a warm, sheer peach creme.

If you’re hearing a lot of blog buzz about MAC Ellie Goulding Powder Blush in I’ll Hold My Breath ($28), there’s good reason: it’s damn pretty. It takes a small or pointed brush to pick up the lightly shimmered peach-pink shade on its own. But it looks nice swirled with the brown bronze shade, so just go ahead and swirl away.

Finally, MAC Pink Rebel Lustre Drops ($21) is a permanent product that works beautifully within the launch. The peachy pink champagne shade gives more of a shimmered finish rather than a big color deposit when blended, but strobe-fans, what a great product this would be for you!

  1. I’m not blonde or British, but I share your desire for this collection! The packaging is so beautiful, and the color palette is just sunny enough for winter. I can’t wait to check out these products in person, and pick up the Without Your Love lippie at the very least.

  2. Ohhh myyyy.I love it all, but especially that blush/bronzer! The Patentpolish lip pencil and Lustre Drops look like must-haves as well.

  3. Gah, so pretty! This whole collection looks like something an impossibly chic Barbie would wear, and I’m sneaking Without Your Love onto my birthday list for sure.

  4. I got the blush, Without You lipstick, and nights palette–they’re all amazing but the packaging is especially to die for!

    1. Thanks for your comment. I really need to pull the trigger and get one of the palettes – but I really can’t decide which one!

  5. Oh my! This collection is soooo pretty. Lovely shade/color which is so perfect for Winter. Lovely packaging as well.

  6. This. Is. Superb. I’ve always looked at MAC collections but have never truly wanted to purchase anything, but this collection might actually convince me to! I absolutely must have that lip pencil!

  7. I have just decided that I want to go and get more- the lipstick in Without Your Love and the blush. I love Ellie Goulding so I was pretty much going to get SOMETHING anyways…I got that patent polish in Revved Up and Halcyon Nights which is SO good!! I love the matte shadows in it! I actually was just going to go back and get the lipstick but then I saw your swatches of the blush….

    1. Thank you so much for this comment! I love beauty-enabling.

  8. I also adore the packaging and believe that in theory the colors are insanely gorgeous. I am really wanting the lipsticks but worry that they would be too pale for me. Maybe I should just go for it!
