Our Green Monday review of the latest from natural superstars Korres

Lip Butter Glazes collectionphotos: we heart this

A sure sign of spring is when your go to daily lip product moves from medicated balms to something with a bit more zip. It’s time fore little color and shine…and hopefully some nourishing goodness as well. The genii (that’s plural for genius) at Korres never fail to deliver just what we need! (And look at that- we’re bringing a little Greek knowledge to wht as well).

Okay, so I don’t speak Greek near as well as these Greeks make skincare products. They are one of our favorite Green Monday lines and we’ve had nothing but raves when we tested some of their all natural products like the Wild Rose Moisturizer. So far, Korres can do no wrong! Just in time for spring, Korres has infused some punchy colors into their heavenly lip butters and the wht team is taking at look the all new Lip Butter Glazes.

Lip Butter Glazes collection packaging

The Lip Butter Glazes ($14) are housed in tubes and provide “vibrant and shiny color” that “smells utterly delicious.” Truer words have never been spoken! The glaze is a blend of lightweight natural oils and has an almost gloss like shine and a soft, sweet, fruity scent that’s just barely noticeable.

These glazes give a sheer punch of color to lips and make them appear absolutely plump and juicy! They are available in five sweet shades: Jasmine a sheet neutral pink, Pomegranate, a sheer coral, Quince a sheer rose, Raspberry a sheer berry and Wild Rose a sheer deep red.

One of the best benefits: they are super-moisturizing: even after the color wears off you can feel that your lips have been truly moisturized, but not in that way where they feel OVER-moisturized like your fingertips if you stayed in the tub-too long. Just smooth, kissable lips!

Lip Butter Glazes collection

Pros:
• Lip balm with pretty color and lots of shine
• Extra-moisturizing with long lasting benefits
• Easy-squeeze tubes
• Bonus points for easily identifiable, color coordinated tubes

Greens
• Lightweight natural oils provide shine and condition lips
• Paraben and sulfate free.
• Also free of synthetic fragrances, petrochemicals, phthalates and GMOs
• All product containers are recyclable
• All paper used in packaging is from recycled materials.

Cons:
• It only comes in 5 colors? (Sorry that’s the best I can do …these glazes are kinda perfect!)

Well readers and testers, do you agree? Has Korres reached perfection with their new Lip Butter Glazes?

  1. I absolutely love Korres lip butters. The glazes sound even better since they are in a tube. Wasn’t planning on going shopping today, but I think I may have to. I really want to try these.

  2. I am a huge fan of the Korres Lip Butters as well! But these glazes sound even better. How great is it not to have to stick your finger in a pot? I love it! The glazes sound perfect for on the go usage. I am super pumped to try Raspberry, especially. I am adding this to my Sephora order asap! Love Korres!!

    1. @kellie76 – the Raspberry is gorgeous! A semi deep (for me – sort of color shy) berry with lots of pink. And for a balm like formula lots of shine.

  3. You know, @kate2004rock, I never even thought about it, but even though I’m a gloss and balm addict, very few to almost none of mine make me feel moisturized after they wear off. Which is great for them, because it means I’ll keep manically applying throughout the day, but not so great for me.
I have no idea why I didn’t think about that before, I was so focused on color and texture that it didn’t cross my mind. I wouldn’t keep using a lotion that didn’t moisturize after it was rubbed in, why am I using lip products that do that?!

I’m definitely going to have to try these out, thanks so much Katie! I feel like my eyes have been opened! ;-)

  4. Yep, these ARE pretty much perfect! Lip Butter Glaze is very similar to the original Lip Butters, but in a squeeze tube to keep your germy fingers away from it, and with a slightly more pigmented, fabulous glossy finish. BUT, as @kate2004rock mentions, the glazes still give you the same buttery moisture as the original. It’s like lip gloss and lip balm had a pretty lil’ perfect baby!

Being a coral addict, I was helpless to Pomegranate upon first swatch. And I’m happy it’s now part of my coral empire. Actually, it hasn’t left my purse since I got it. It makes my lips feel good, it’s a beautiful color, it’s in a sturdy tube – it just begs to be with me at all times!

This is a 5 star lip product if there ever was one. I want them all!

  5. 5 Stars. I mean, these babies have a gorgeous, shiny punch of color and it really feels like you put on your favorite chapstick–even after the color wore off!

  6. Oooh, those colors are pretty. I’ve been thinking about getting a lip butter, but of course, there’s my obsessionally fear of scents (see, it’s bordering on an obsession, I swear).

Is it a light scent, overwhelming? Does it stay around forever and ever? I need a sensitive scent We Heart This person! *falls over from thinking too many questions on product*

    1. I found the scent with Jasmine to be quite light, and it dissipated quickly. YMMV, of course. I know that if you order it from Sephora their return policy is great- you can return it even if it’s opened.

  7. Love Korres! I cannot wait to try these Lip Butter Glazes. I am really liking the looks of Pomegranate, in a sheer coral too! I like that it’s in a tube- so no fingers

  8. @Kate2004rock is right, there are really no cons with the Korres Lip Butter Glazes. I received the lip butter glaze in jasmine, and I’m in love! While I’ve been a long time fan of the lip butters in a pot it’s just not that attractive to whip out in public and it leaves a weird bump when in a pocket. I also tend to drop the top while sticking my finger in the pot, hah! These Lip Butter Glazes in the tube are much easier to apply, sleeker and therefore easier to carry about in a pocket.
Jasmine is the perfect everyday shade. It’s an easy way to class up plain powder and mascara when I don’t feel like getting totally made up, but it’s also a beautiful glossy nude lip for nights when I want to be a little fancier. And yes- it’s just as moisturizing as everyone has said!

Korres, you’ve hit another home run. 5 stars!

  9. I need these! I have the pots and while I love them and they provide me with moisture and the best punch of color…I always wish for them to be in a tube. Love Korres lip products.

  10. I have fallen in love with every Korres product that I have tried. After reading this great review . . . I cannot believe I do not have a lip butter or glaze in my purse!!

  11. Oh my gosh ladies, these are a fabulous addition to your balm/gloss stash! As a balm lover, I adore the look of gloss, but always go back to balms. It’s just what I reach for when I’m on the go/at my desk.

But Korres Lip Glaze gives me some pretty color and a nice bit of shine while feeling better then most lip balms. I tested Raspberry – a really lovely sheer, but semi deep berry with more pink than purple undertones. As a fair girl, I have a ton of trouble with dark colors on the lips, but this one is a winner. The color is strong, but not overwhelming on the face and flatters my cool tones.

The glaze has an amazing smooth consistency and feels so creamy on the lips – and it sticks around a nice long time, even as @kate2004rock claims – moisturizing the lips even after it’s all absorbed. Love that.

Finally, wish I could give this 5 and a half stars for packaging these glazes in a TUBE – instead of a germy, unwieldy pot. The Lip Butter Glazes get 5 Stars from me.

  12. I looooove many Korres products, especially their lip butters. But I hate having to stick my fingers in the containers, so these glazes sound perfect. I can’t wait to try them!

  14. I love Korres in general, so I was really excited to try out lip butters. I’m not a big lipstick wearer so these are perfect. I have Wild Rose and it’s great – I’m really eying the Pomegranate, though!
