One of the things I miss most about living in a walking-friendly city is the beauty of stumbling upon a new shopping find. Tyna and I used to love nothing more then roaming the Philadelphia streets making discoveries.

It was on one of these roams that we found one of our favorite shops ever. It was part pharmacy, part beauty supply store, part exotic world market. We felt like we uncovered a jewel. We’d walk the isles for hours, buying makeup (both cheap and high end), drugstore sundries, finds from overseas, perfume oils – then run home and begin testing everything immediately. I honestly think it was the roots for the blog you’re looking at right now.

I think I would have nearly fainted had we stumbled upon New London Pharmacy.

Located in the Chelsea section of New York City (where it’s been since 1960), New London Pharmacy is a much grander version of the store that launched my love of beauty discoveries. Lucky for all of us unable to roam it’s NYC isles, it’s online shop is also filled with gems just waiting to be unearthed!

Owned by the husband-and-wife team of John and Abby Fazio (that’s Abby below), the pair also happens to be licensed pharmacists. Plus, they have a multi-lingual staff that can assist you in over 8 languages and a full-time nutritionist. For those visiting via the web though, it’s all about the beauty. And oh, how beautiful it is!

Within their shelves (both virtual and actual) you’ll find everything from old favorites, luxury brands, the best in organic beauty and even hard to find European brands (I know a few testers who will be pleased to see Embryolisse). A quick scroll of their brand page reveals Caudalie, Fekkai, Deborah Lippmann, Molton Brown…and the list goes on. Over 10,000 products from over 1,000 brands.

But the photo above shows what section I spent most of my time in…the perfume isle! They have an astounding selection of fragrances, 23 pages of women’s scents alone. It’s here where I made my purchase, the much coveted Tom Ford Black Orchid. Not only is it insanely delicious (with notes of Mandarin, Black Gardenia, Patchouli, Sandalwood, Incense and Vanilla), check out that sexy bottle!
