Olay Sensitive Skin Body Wash Review
By gosh, into everyone’s life a little rain must fall – a shower to wash away the collective dirt and tears of every sensitive soul. Our earthly sensitive souls are often covered in sensitive skin. Olay wants to help you wash the dirt and the tears away in the most gentle of ways with their Olay Sensitive Body Wash.
I realize the cheese-o-meter just went through the roof with that intro, but the folks at Olay had it coming. To introduce me to their lovingly crafted, exquisite Sensitive Body Wash (which I will get to in a moment), they appealed to the cheesy, sappy side of all of us by sending out their “Sensitive Emergency Kit.”
In case of a sensitive emergency, I only needed to pop open this box that was stuffed with two tear-jerking chick flicks, a box of chocolates (stamped with Olay logos, of course), a pack of tissues and an awesome fuzzy throw (from West Elm) to curl up in as I pop those bonbons and cry my eyes out to The Notebook and that awesomely quotable 80’s gem, Steel Magnolias.
The truth is, they needn’t have gone to such extremes. Sensitive Body Wash is good stuff that is “free of soap, dye and drama.” That (and simple physics) could explain the movies: if one removes the drama matter from the equation, that matter has to appear somewhere else. Ta-daaah: The Notebook.
In any case, the Olay Sensitive Body Wash ($6.49) is unscented, claims to be as mild to the skin as water, and it moisturizes the skin better than the leading doctor recommended body wash. That seems about right from my perspective.
The wash is thick and creamy right out of the bottle, lathering up to decadently rich suds. It rinses cleanly and completely, leaving my skin soft and smooth. I even skipped my after-bath moisturizer in the morning and didn’t have to contend with itchy, ashy legs and arms. One reason for this may be that every 23 oz. Olay Sensitive Body Wash contains the equivalent of one jar of Olay moisturizers to visibly relieve dry skin after five days. That’s a big deal.
So thank you very much Olay. Thank you for the soft skin. Thank you for inspiring that candle-lit bubble bath with a side of Champagne and chocolate. It was thirty minutes of wonderful (to paraphrase Shelby in Steel Magnolias). And thank you for reminding me how awesome Ryan Gosling looks all rain-soaked and sensitive-like. You’re the best. Now excuse my while I cry.

Looks right up my alley! I’ll be sure to pick this up!
I LOVE this body wash! I’ve already bought a second bottle of it. It’s got the creamiest, softest, most moisturizing bubbles. And I love that it’s unscented so it doesn’t compete with body lotion or perfume. Plus, so inexpensive. I have next to a bottle that I spent $25 on and I reach for this more.
I tell ya, Olay knows what it’s doing!
I am a body wash lover and this is a goodie! While I love a nice scented wash, I also have to have an unscented one in my shower as well. Olay Sensitive Skin will be in my shower for a long, long time! Not only is the bottle huge (so I’ll get a ton of uses out of it), but I will replacing this gem when I run out. It’s a new staple for me.
As the ladies have mentioned it is super foamy and moisturizing on my sometimes sensitive skin. And I am always looking for a two in one product and Olay delivers, as I can use this as a shaving lotion as well. Might not be its intended use, but it is perfect for my daily swipe of the underarms. In fact, it seems to be gentler on that area than most shaving gels I’ve tried (and then abandoned in my shower because they cause red spots and itchies).
I’m going to have to look at this the next time I hit up Target–I love Olay! I love the moisturizing factor of this–I hate having to use lotion in the summer. It’s humid here during the warmer months and it seems like my lotion never dries down. Excited to try this :)
I will definitely have to try this out, because I have been very pleased with the Olay products I’ve tried so far. Love the “sensitive care pack” so clever!
I love Olay body washes, but haven’t tried this. Looks like it would be a winner for the kiddos too! Thanks for the great review!
I will totally be purchasing this body was asap! I love Olay and I am always on the hunt for sensitive products as my skin can be pretty weird. I am pumped to try this! Yay for Olay!!
