Give us all the glitter…
It was so hot on the East Coast this summer that even the sidewalks look like they’re shimmering. I think a heat wave is the perfect time to give my makeup a little glow, and Pixi is making this goal super simple with new highlighters and eyeshadows that pack in glimmer and glitter galore, even as we head into fall.
Even if you’re like me and you usually shy away from sparkle, check out Pixi Glow-y Gossamer Duo ($18), two super-luminous highlighter palettes that lighten and brighten in the most perfectly glow-y way.
Delicate Dew— light champagne and silver rose
Subtle Sunrise— yellow gold and golden rose
Delicate Dew and Subtle Sunrise Duos
I’m having trouble deciding which duo I love the most. The metallic color options transcend the usual warm/cool coloring to look good on all skin tones. I’m glad I have them both to play with! The powder is so soft, it feels creamy. Just a light touch gives my skin a “lit from within” glow. My cheeks, brow bones, even shoulders look sunlit and feel silky.
With a heavier hand, though, look out! This powder packs the most metallic pigmentation I’ve ever seen in a powder highlighter. It builds to a wet-looking glow that is truly astounding. There is no glitter at all in these palettes, just impressive radiance.
If you’re the type that misses the glitter, though, don’t despair. Pixi’s other new offering has everything your flashy heart could desire: Pixi Liquid Fairy Lights ($15), five sparkling shades of liquid eye shadow.
“Liquid Fairy Lights” are aptly named; there must be some magic involved in packing this much sparkle into an otherwise simple liquid shadow. There is nothing subtle about these glitter-heavy colors. One swipe of the wand deposits a shocking amount of glitter that dries quickly and stays put for hours.
Wondering if there was a way to make the glitter less dramatic, I tried to sheer out the color with my finger before it dried, but why bother? These babies are all about the sparkle! The shadow is extremely long-wearing, and comforting to the skin thanks to infusions of chamomile and rose extracts. There are five glittery shades to choose from.
Crystalline— iridescent silvery sparkle
SunRay— metallic gold with gold sparkle
RoseGold— heavily metallic, least fine sparkle
BareBrilliance— heavy taupe metallic with lots of glitter
PassionLight— heavy bronze metallic with heavy sparkle
Check them out here at Target or Kohls.

The shadows are hyper-sparkly and colorful on their own, but can be used as a topper to glam up your regular eyeshadow as well.
Between these two releases, Pixi makes it easy to embrace summer’s glow before it’s gone. And as always, Pixi products are cruelty free, just another reason to love them.
Ooooh super glowy, wet-look highlighters?! I’m in!!!
