STEAMCREAM review

Hi, my name is Shaya, and I have dry skin. I have the kind of dry skin that gets embarrassing half way through the day when you look down and realize your legs look all scaly. Shorts simply don’t exist in my life and all skirts are at least knee length. Finding a lotion that actually works, lasts through the day and is enjoyable to use is not easy.
So when I read about STEAMCREAM on we heart this last summer (It’s true, steam makes cream better) I was definitely intrigued. And when when I received a tin to review I was practically ecstatic.
STEAMCREAM sent the review team a batch of tins in some of the latest, totally fabulous designs including Georg (a black snakeskin), Freedom & Discipline (British flag) and the French inspired Soliel:
Not only are the tins ($18) adorable and reusable, this is truly a Green Monday worthy product. Their unique process of using steam to bond the ingredients together means they can make a lotion chock full of amazing great for your skin ingredients without chemicals.
Oatmeal, almond oil, and cocoa butter are just a few of the amazing ingredients that help moisturize skin. While orange flower water, lavender oil and chamomile oils all add nourishment to improve elasticity and calm irritation. I can easily read every ingredient on the label, and I actually know what all of them are. That’s pretty cool in my book.
When I used STEAMCREAM right after a shower I noticed a difference immediately. Instead of my skin drying out as I dried off, I felt soft all over. And I kept feeling soft all day. My elbows are probably the softest they’ve been in years.
The scent is very light, very accessible, and very summer friendly. My boyfriend noticed it, and loved it, but it dissipates quickly. It reminds me of lavender and oatmeal and fresh herbs. This is one of those lotions the guys in my life don’t mind using when I pull it out of my purse.
This brings me to my final point, the packaging. Easily the most distinctive thing about this lotion is the tin it comes in. And since the cream is basically perfect, why mess with things? The ever changing supply of tins designs keeps things fun! I adore my tin, Epris, a red and cream paisley pattern that looks like it’s covered in a vintage fabric. Oh, and the peacock tin above is Gaudy.
I love the way it looks sitting on my vanity, but I also love the way it fits in my purse. I can carry my lotion anywhere with me, to re-apply whenever I feel the need. Which has me re-thinking some of those shorter skirts I’ve been eyeing up.
Pros:
• Lightweight, quick absorbing highly moisturizing, the lotion trifecta.
• Very green! Great, good for your skin ingredients, and it’s Vegan!
• Reusable packaging that you actually want to keep using, and collecting.
Cons:
• Small package. Great for travel, but not as an all over body product.
• The expiration date. Since there are no chemicals it only lasts about 10 months.
• Hard to find. You can order it online and you can find a list of retailers here.
All in all, I look forward to adding to my tin collection while quenching my dry skin with STEAMCREAM. Now, which design to pick next?

Love these new designs! I think I need to place an order. These would make a perfect gift for my kid’s teachers.
What a great testimonial from you and your dry skin, @pinkshaya ! I also learned about STEAMCREAM from wht last summer, and I’m now a hardcore fan. These new designs are darling!
I received the gorgeous Georg tin. And I love it! It is so chic and beautiful!! And the cream itself is to die for. I thought that it for sure would wreak havoc on my oily skin. But it absolutely did not make me oily. It provided excellent moisture for my dry areas. And it calmed a lot of my redness and acne trouble. I love SteamCream!!
I give it a solid 4 stars. I would go for 5 but I wish that it was a tad bit cheaper and was available more readily.
i love the packaging! i really want to try one of these out
These new tin designs are so cute! Like you, I keep my tins long after they’re empty to store stuff in. They’re just perfect to keep on my nightstand or desk.
I didn’t receive any of *these* tins to test, but my past experience with STEAMCREAM stands- 5 stars. This stuff is perfect!
Great review! I have bad dry skin as well and this stuff sounds amazing. The tins are adorable and it’s a good idea that they rotate different designs so when you restock you get a completely new tin to keep.
I really want to try this out! I did a little research and found some on BeautyCollection.com … they’re located in Cali. Good way to save a little money on shipping!

& there’s a few at KitCosmetics.com, too. A little more expensive, but the cupcake tin and vinyl tins are adorable.

Thanks for the links, that cupcake tin does look cute!
Ohmygoodness, I saw the packaging, and knew I had to have it… even though I hadn’t even read what was packaged inside! I must admit, I’m guilty of owning about a dozen lotions that I need to use up first, but I’m positively drooling over this product. Lately my skin, especially my hands, has been quite dry and in need of a good moisturizer. And this would also make the cutest gift! On glamourjunkie.com, they’re on sale for $10 a piece too!!!
Great review -The packaging really draws me in!
I love the updated tins! I tested these last year but not this time, and I’d forgotten til now how much I adored this scent! It has the perfect amount of lavender – very sexy but not overwhelming. I think I’m going to have to place an order…thanks for all the links everyone!
This cream is awesome! I even put it on my face! The containers are keepers too, I saved my tin with a tulip on it from last summer.. It’s such a great looking piece..
I have almost exclusively applied the cream to my face. I wonder if it is not meant for that. Oh, well…Great minds think alike and it seems to be working very well.
Sorry I’m late to the comment party, I just got home from a trip to Vermont. I brought my steamcream with me and fell in love with it all over again. The tin is perfect for travel, and kept my skin happy even through air travel a week high up in the mountains, and water that was not exactly my best friend. I’m giving this stuff 4.5 stars, the only problem I have is getting more. But thanks to @kirstengail maybe I don’t have to worry about that anymore!
Kellie, It is great stuff all around! It’s a multipurpose cream good for Face, Hands and Body! I just wish they were made by the pint or better yet gallon!
I too use my STEAMCREAM mostly on my face – but also on super dry spots like elbows, hands and heels. It can be used anywhere, anytime! Just one reason why I love it.
And also because of the amazing packaging. Cute, colorful, reusable – what’s not to love? I received the Gaudy tin – with the super cool peacock – love it and this multi use cream.
Add in the green qualities, the fresh, herby scent and the moisturizing benefits – STEAMCREAM gets 5 stars from me.
This sounds like a cool weather staple for me. The tins are so smart and cute. I love that they are reusable. Great great review @pinkshaya!
I too tested steam cream last year and just love it! I went through the tin so fast I definitely need to get some more. I love the lightweight consistency and scent and the new tins are adorable!
I received the French Tin and I must say, I was hooked with the tin design alone! How adorable and summery!
The cream is hydrating and smells lovely, but like @pinkshaya said above, it dissipates so quickly. I am a sucker for lavender, so it was a win for me. I just wish Steamcream were easier to find…Overall a nice cream and an A from me for the packaging!
