Sunday Riley Auto Correct Eye Cream Review: Is it a savior for our peeper puff?

My undereye battles have been well-documented during my decade as a WHT reviewer. To recap: everything makes my eyes puff up, and very little helps de-puff them. This ongoing issue is the reason I got so excited when I heard about an eye cream that immediately diminishes puffiness and dark circles.

In this we heart this Sunday Riley Auto Correct Eye Cream review, we wonder could Sunday Riley Auto Correct Brightening and Depuffing Eye Contour Cream be the product that finally gets these puffy peepers under control? ($65 for .5oz)

If anyone could be my skincare savior, it’s Sunday Riley

They’re a brand with a mission. That mission; to create products that are “powered by science, balanced by botanicals.” I know from previous Sunday Riley experience that this formula is a winner; the brand’s commitment to green technology gives us products that we can feel safe and confident using for multiple reasons… they’re good for us (non-irritating and fast-acting)… and they produce real results!

According to the brand’s literature, the depuffing and concealing effects of Auto Correct Brightening and Depuffing Eye Contour Cream comes from a combination of these botanical ingredients:

  • Caffeine and Brazilian ginseng root extract – Rapidly reduce puffiness to reveal a more refined eye area
  • Concentrated horse chestnut and acamella oleracea extracts – Give the eyes a lifted look by smoothing the appearance of crow’s feet and other fine expression lines
  • Lutein – A deep yellow antioxidant derived from marigolds that gives a radiant glow, drawing attention away from dark circles and discoloration

Although the only permanent solution to undereye bags is plastic surgery, Auto Correct Brightening and Depuffing Eye Contour Cream is as close as I’ve ever gotten to a lifted, depuffed, comfortable result through a skincare product. The combination of active ingredients works fast. I apply just a small amount of product under my eyes, wait five minutes or so, then apply my makeup. I’m at least 50% less puffy even on days when I’m extra-tired.

According to Sunday Riley, the cream has a light-diffusing glow. Its slight pearlescent, golden tone has a blurring effect for my dark circles. Although on days when they’re really dark, concealer on top completes the camouflage. In case you’re thinking that such an effective de-puffer could dehydrate your sensitive undereye area, don’t worry. The cream contains plenty of moisture thanks to cocoa and shea butters, watermelon rind extract and sodium PCA, all of which add hydration to the skin.

Besides the very real results, the best thing about this cream is that I do not feel any uncomfortable tightening sensation while I’m wearing the product. This is unique in the world of eye de-puffers. Sunday Riley is a cruelty-free brand whose products are created without Parabens, Sulfates, Phthalates, gluten or fragrance.

One caveat: the depuffing effect is temporary, lasting a few hours. However, it’s easy (and soothing) to apply a little more cream throughout the day if needed. Even with frequent touch-ups, the bottle is large and should help de-puff me all summer long.

we heartsters – have you tried this? I want to hear your thoughts in the comments.

  1. I got distracted by the rainbow nail art LOL! You may just need the depuffing in the mornings or after a late night out, though. I’m not sure if it’s okay to reapply it on top of makeup when you’re out and about, so that might be a dilemma. Thanks for this!
