The perils of rosacea are many.

First, there is the itchy redness and inflammation of an acute outbreak following a stressful episode, a glass of wine, intense heat or a moment in the bright sun.

Then there are the lasting monikers of rosacea such as broken capillaries and red bumps and uneven texture. It’s a battle that ebbs and flows, and it’s not fun.

Finding products that can effectively not only cover the redness (without melting or cracking when the heat from within strikes), but also help reduce that redness, isn’t easy.

I was lucky to sample the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness products, and I am swooning.

IT Cosmetics was co-founded by CEO Jamie Kern Lima, who suffers from many of the issues IT products are designed to tackle. Likewise, Ms. Lima also benefits from their effectiveness.

She is inspiring and real, and these character traits are conveyed in the quality products she puts forth.

There are three IT Bye Bye Redness for Redness and Sensitive Skin products and they all get my highest accolades.

First up is the IT Cosmetics Skin Relief Treatment Moisturizer (available here).

Why it’s great?

The cooling relief of the medium weight gel-type cream instantly calms thanks to ingredients like colloidal oatmeal, aloe, cucumber and turmeric, while the subtle green tint neutralizes redness.

The addition of collagen and peptides even and plump the rough-hewn texture that can accompany rosacea.

This tiny jar (.37 oz) packs a big wallop by using those same ingredients as the moisturizer to reduce inflammation and smooth skin, but adds great, long-lasting cover that doesn’t melt down when your skin flares up.

  1. IT Cosmetics continues to amaze me with every release. I can’t wait to check out the Neutralizing Correcting Cream. Sounds like just what I need!

  2. How long does the product last before it starts to breakdown or fade?

I’m currently using Too Faced Peach primer and Too Faced Peach Perfect foundation.

    1. Hi Robin! This product (both correcting cream and the pressed powder that I use with it) have great lasting potential. I use this at the start of my workday, before leaving the house, and I notice very little in terms of breakdown for the entire work day. My work involves a lot of activity (always on my feet). My skin is oily, and the addition of mucho activity usually ends up with a foundation meltdown. even my favorites show some wear and tear into the tenth hour. Maybe there is a tad bit of settling into the pores late in the day, but to be honest, I don’t even feel the need for a touch up. Now, when they make a ten-hour lipstick, I’ll be golden.

  3. I am mega fair and have sensitive skin that is usually fairly calm, but sometimes my skin dries out in the winter or I get breakouts–both of which might be a nuisance to cover up if you have slightly darker skin, but the contrast of red blemishes/dry patches against my very pale skin makes it so much worse. I’ve used IT Cosmetics’ Bye Bye Redness Neutralizing Correcting Cream before, though Porcelain Beige wasn’t an option back then. Even though I didn’t have a good color match for my paleness, it still fully covered all redness–I am so excited they added Porcelain Beige because I’m going to give it another go!
I got to try out the Redness Erasing Correcting Powder in Porcelain Beige and it’s pretty fabulous. I am a fan of wearing a couple dabs of concealer where needed and then topping with a powder as my “base layer” of makeup. I’ve used numerous powders and powder foundations, but this one really banished all traces of redness. Just a couple swipes and my skin was uniformly pale and perfect. I probably could have even skipped concealer on my blemishes! Love!

    1. You and I are speaking the same language! Yes, it is amazing how neutralizing and long-lasting these are. Definitely a duo to be reckoned with as far as redness zappers go. The moisturizer is good, too; however, I do own moisturizers that do as well. I’d reccommend the whole line, but if you can only get one or two, conider these for sure!
