IT Goes Oil Free!

I don’t think I’ve tried an IT product that I haven’t loved and their newest addition to their CC+ products is probably my absolute favorite.

Let’s hear it for IT Cosmetics Your Skin but Better CC+ Oil-free Matte Poreless Finish Full Coverage Cream and Anti-Aging Hydrating Serum ($38/1.08 oz).

Which I shall refer to as their Matte CC Cream in the rest of this review, because that is a MOUTHFUL of a name.

It’s one part matte foundation, one part serum, and oh, yeah, one part sunscreen.

This beauty packs a walloping SPF 40!

As someone who hates the feel of a separate sunscreen, but is pale enough to need it at all times, this is one of the things I love best about IT Cosmetics.

A little background about me:

I’m the girl who can apply a full-coverage foundation and then need to blot my oily nose and forehead half an hour later. I’m the same oily-skinned girl who breaks out when using products containing oil.

Oh, and I’m not getting any younger and my skincare needs are greater than they’ve ever been. We’re talking fine lines, some occasional redness, a dry patch here and there. I’m generally seeing skin in the mirror that doesn’t look like it’s twenty…or even thirty anymore.

IT Cosmetics Oil-Free Matte CC Cream Review

IT Cosmetics Oil-Free Matte CC Cream

IT’s Matte CC cream pretty much is the answer to all of my foundation makeup needs.

It’s magic in a teal tube, y’all. It contains charcoal to detoxify, and colloidal clay to help reduce shine and control oil for up to 12 hours. It also has tea tree extract to fight breakouts.

On the anti-aging front, it contains hydrolyzed collagen, hyaluronic acid, antioxidants and a slew of other ingredients.

I find that with this product I can skip powder altogether and I don’t need to use blotting papers hourly. (I start to get a teensy, tiny bit of breakthrough shine around hour 5. Which is really good for me–I usually have the same within 30 minutes with most other foundation makeup.)

I also don’t really need concealer unless I’m covering a blemish. When they say “full-coverage”, they mean it. Best of all, the more you use this, the better your skin will look, thanks to all the good-for-you ingredients.

Want an even more flawless finish?

Apply this with the CC+ Skin-Perfecting Brush No. 702. This densely bristled brush buffs and blends the Matte CC Cream to perfection. I found that with the matte formulation of CC Cream, it was best to work with a very small amount at a time to get the most even coverage.

This product sets more than the other IT CC+ creams.

I pump a tiny dot (one dot per zone of my face) from the tube directly to the center of the brush.

Then, I gently work the product onto my skin in small circles. Both my pores and the problem areas of my complexion disappeared as if I airbrushed them away, leaving glowing, shine-free skin behind. *insert choir of angels here*

  1. I’m with Krista on this one! I love everything IT Cosmetics does, especially their range of CC+ creams, and this particular release is extra-nice. I tested Light Medium, and was so impressed by the coverage and the minimal amount of product I needed to cover my entire face. My skin is dry in the winter, but come summertime… hello there, oily T-zone. This CC+ cream will be my skin’s warm weather best friend! Bonus points for the high SPF.

  2. I am really digging the matte formula. I feel like it works way better for me.
