Question of the Week: What’s your favorite beauty pick-me-up? New fragrance? New lipstick? New nail color?

Answer: My biggest pick-me-up is whatever new item I have! There’s nothing like the rush of a new product. Right now, the Lipstick Queen Bête Noire collection is giving me serious palpitations; three dark blackberry shades in three finishes; sheer, intense and metal. LOVE!

  1. I used to get a new nail polish because it’s the perfect little pick me up that isn’t too expensive…but I’ve kind of slowed down on that because I have too many! :)

  2. I am dying over the sheer lipstick from Lipstick Queen’s new collection–I bet it’s magical! I’m torn between the sheer and the metallic shades, but I think the sheer will get more wear from me. I just wish they were a smidge cheaper because $40 for one lipstick is kind of out of my acceptable price range for lipstick :(

When I need a pick me up, I go for lipstick or blush. Maybe a fun nail polish in a crazy color. I don’t really limit myself to one type of item specifically–just whatever I think will bring me joy.

    1. I have Possession Sheer and I love it. I have the metal formula in Red and I like that too but it really is METALLIC, with super sheen that can emphasise lip texture if you’re flaky or chapped at all. The Sheer doesn’t do that, just slicks on with a soft shine that isn’t dehydrating. And it’s pretty buildable as well – you can get a fairly deep stain going on. Hope that helps. :-)

My favourite beauty pick-me-up is eyeshadow. Or someone else doing my nails in a colour I’ve taken with me from my own stash, heh.

    2. Thanks for your comment El! And @krista – she’s right – the Metal finish can be a bit dry, but it is SO PRETTY. I love that it’s metallic too, not just frosty masquerading as metallic. Swatches coming soon. I think you’ll flip…

  3. Thanks, El, for the tip! I bet I will flip, @stef! I think I’m leaning towards the sheer shade b/c my lips are just atrociously chapped and the metallic would just look sad on my lips right now. I’m so painfully bummed about $40 for a lipstick, though. Daaaaaaaannnnnnnggggg…lol

  4. Lipstick is always my go to beauty product for a pick me up!!

I am dying to try the new Lipstick Queen Bete Noir Collection!!! Lipstick Queen has long been one of my favorite lines. Everything is so luxurious and innovative. If only I could afford more of the products!! These look gorgeous!!
