All that and more in The Lipstick League, week of 3.30.15
Some super pretty MAC goodies arrived on my desk this week, via two new gorgeous MAC spring launches: Phillip Treacy and MAC is Beauty.
The designer whose hats grace the heads of royals, graces our cheeks with the Nude Pink Highlight powder from the Phillip Treacy launch. The art deco embossed powder is a delicate light peachy nude with a silver overspray detail. LOVE.
The beauty parlor themed MAC is Beauty collection is big, like 16 fluidlines big (though many are not new.) It was the lipsticks that first grabbed me, like these two: French Twist; a light peachy nude with a lustre finish and Make Me Gorgeous; a bright punchy coral with an amplified finish. I kinda have spring covered with just two tubes.
Blue Peep Fluidline is so amazing, it’s a part of BOTH collections. Honestly, if you get one MAC product right now, get this. This cyan-hued eyeliner will deliver you directly to spring.
Nude Pink Highlight powder, French Twist and Make Me Gorgeous Lipstick, Blue Peep Fluidline
Highlight Powder: $32
Lipsticks and Fluidline: $16
Ok, time to League it.
Question of the Week: What’s the last beauty product that really “wowed” you?
Answer: See Blue Peep above!
Here’s what happened with the lovely League this week…
My Newest Addiction – Laura shares an awesome Everyday Glam eyeshadow tutorial using the Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar palette!
Nouveau Cheap – Can’t get enough nudes and neutrals? You might want to check out the new Hard Candy Natural Eyes Neutral Eyeshadow Palette, which looks a lot like another very popular palette (but for ¼ the price).
Prime Beauty – gets a much needed hair makeover with Living Proof’s Perfect Hair Day 5-in-1 Styling Treatment!
Phyrra – I love the gorgeous new Too Faced Melted Metal Lipsticks. They’re hot for Summer!
Vampy Varnish – Do you still love coloring with pencils? Me too which is why the new Bobbi Brown Art Stick in Hot Pink was a must-have!
we heart this – we’re guessing you’re ready for warmer weather, right? The bareMinerals Modern Pop collection will prepare you for its arrival!
Beautygeeks – If you suffer from seasonal allergies, the last thing you need to do is scrub away at stubborn waterproof mascara. Instead try one of this handful of humidity-, rain-, sweat- and tear-proof formulas that come off without a fuss.
Clumps of Mascara – has fallen in love with OFRA Cosmetics. And I’ve got 5 reasons why!
EauMG – March was a hectic month, but Victoria has managed to share her March Empties from rose-scented skincare to Korean sheet masks to whipped foundations! She emptied a lot last month.
Gouldylox Reviews – Looking to switch it up for spring? I’ve listed my Top Ten favorite picks for April and it’s so much more than what is new at Sephora
Love for Lacquer – Jess has an EXCLUSIVE look at the brand new Showstopper Palette from Tarte! Can you say gorgeous!?
My Beauty Bunny – Be fierce this spring with the gorgeous Milani Fierce Foil Eyeshine Palettes. There are four beautiful foiled eyeshadow palettes and we’ve got all the shimmering swatches!
(Wondering what the Lipstick League is? Find out here.)
Guest Post of the Week, as chosen by My Newest Addiction – I love Jamie over at Makeup Life and Love. Her Spring Beauty Bag Refresh was a great read!
we heartsters, what’s the last beauty product that really “wowed” you?
That MAC Make Me Gorgeous lipstick is calling my name—gorgeous!
The last beauty product that wowed me was Charlotte Tilbury’s blush in Sex on Fire. It has 2 shades you can either swirl together or a lighter shade you apply to the tops of cheeks and a darker shade you can apply under cheekbones for contouring. It looks so natural and flattering on–I was surprised at how lovely it was (and I own a LOT of blush, so for something to stand out, you know it has to be good).
