Can Oily Skin Tolerate an Oil-Based Cleanser?

Question of the Week: How do you remove your makeup? Traditional makeup removers, cleansing oils, balms, towelettes, natural oils or…?
Answer: For my whole makeup life, it’s been with regular ol’ cleanser. BUT, I just started using Lather’s Chia Seed & Passion Fruit Cleansing Oil and am pretty blown away. First, that my oily skin can tolerate an oil. And second, because it’s really fab! The healthy oil melts your makeup and when you add water, it turns into a milky wash. Good stuff.
Here’s what happened with the League this week…

Guest Post of the Week, as chosen by Clumps of Mascara – Those OCC Lip Tar RTW lippies are taking the beauty world by storm. I always struggle with wondering how a color will look on me so I’m loving Erica of The Gorgeous Gleam’s swatches. Girlfriend is fierce, isn’t she?
How about you we heartsters – How do you remove your makeup?
I use Burt’s Bees wipes–the peach ones. I take all of my makeup off with that and then I typically use my Murad AHA/BHA exfoliating cleanser to get the rest (I sometimes use the cleanser as a face mask and rub it into my skin and let it sit there for 10 minutes before washing it off—it makes my skin nice and glow-y).
I am a big believer of double cleansing. I use a gentle cleanser to get off the makeup and sunblock. Then, I use a cleanser to do its job to really clean my face. It depends on how my skin is doing depending whether it is combination or oily what cleanser.
@krista – I love Murad AHA/BHA cleanser. I am going to try your 10 minute tip.
I go between Philosophy – Purity Made Simple & Philosophy Just Release Me Dual-Phase Oil-Free Makeup Remover, and girl…..Ponds Cold Cream…Thats right.. I’ve mentioned Coty and Ponds in two responses today.. I am my Grandmothers girl all the way :-) These old school faves are amazing on a budget & they do the trick.
I use Dermalogica’s pre-cleanse lately, than another cleanser, (usually with Kiehl’s calendula deep cleansing foaming face wash) to really get good and clean! I love the way my skin feels with the oil precleanse.
I use Neutrogena makeup wipes, followed by an all over foaming cleanser :)
