Question of the Week: Name three skincare products (face and/or body) that are staples for you in cold weather months.

Answer: My oily skin goes into hiding in the winter and all it craves is moisture. So the lightweight gels and wisps of creams get pushed aside for the big guns! Here are my winter must haves…

I have used products from The Body Shop my whole life, specifically their Body Butter. I’ll choose something fruity and tropical in the summer, but in the winter I crave holiday scents like their brand new The Body Shop Spiced Apple and The Body Shop Vanilla Chai (and, they’re on sale on their site for only 10 bucks through 12/14!)

My next two picks are both lines that are brand new to me, and I’m seriously impressed.

Sio makes products for one area only; your décolleté. Now I’ll admit, I don’t spend much time think about my chest past fretting over bras. And that’s a mistake that A LOT of us make. Because it doesn’t matter how much you take care of your face, if you have a wrinkly décolleté, you’re not getting carded!

The Sio Skinpad ($69.95 for a 30 day supply) is made from Silicon and Oxygen to deliver moisture and help your own skin boost its collagen production. Check out their before and after pics, in just one night your skin look YEARS younger. Partner it with their Sio Décolleté Cleansing Discs ($39) to lightly exfoliate and cleanse the skin prior, and the Sio Décolleté Serum ($125) to extend the effects of the skin pads. (I know the price is an ouch but these really work.)

Lastly, Nip + Fab comes from the same founder as Rodial, only with a much more affordable price tag. The Dragon’s Blood line is all about hydration. Don’t worry, no dragon’s were harmed in the making. The name actually refers to the sap of a tree that’s been used as a medicinal for thousands of years.

The Nip + Fab Dragon’s Blood Fix Plumping Serum ($19.95) and Dragon’s Blood Fix Plumping Mask ($14.95) combine the sap with hyaluronic acid to deliver moisture and plump the skin. Your dry skin will thank you!

  1. Those Body Shop creams sound so delicious! My three things would be:

    1. Desert Essence Organic Coconut, Jojoba, & Coffee oil–this smells so good that I stockpile it; it’s lightly sweet and coconutty but then there’s this rich coffee scent, yum. It can be used on face/body/hair, so it’s a great multitasker and really hydrating.

    2. Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 by The Ordinary–just started using this, and it makes my skin super glowy and plump.

    3. Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask–slather this on when you go to bed, enjoy the fresh berry scent and the comforting, buttery texture, and wake up to significantly softer lips.
