Are Glazed Donut Nails The Same As Lipgloss Nails?

Glazed donut nails and lipgloss nails (the more recent super fab mani trend) are both sheer and shiny. 

The main difference is that glazed donut nails use opaque nude, pink, or cream polish, while lipgloss nails usually forego the base coat, go straight to the natural nail, and illuminate the nail’s natural color.
