Kiss your acne and oily skin woes goodbye with IT Cosmetics

As a 30-something-year-old who ADORES IT Cosmetics, and who still frequently struggles with acne and oily skin, I was stoked to see that IT Cosmetics was coming out with products specifically for my skin issues!

I’ve always had great experiences with IT Cosmetics products in the past (especially their unbelievably soft cruelty-free makeup brushes, CC creams, and concealer).

The new IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Breakout Powder and Bye Bye Breakout Concealer are specifically designed with oily and/or acne-prone skin in mind.

They treat your skin with anti-aging and anti-acne ingredients like peptides, hydrolyzed collagen, zinc oxide, kaolin clay, witch hazel, colloidal oatmeal, tea tree, sulfur and a gentle AHA/BHA complex–talk about multi-tasking!

IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Breakout Concealer (available here for $28) comes in seven shades and is designed to be a hybrid drying lotion and full-coverage concealer.

I tested out Medium and Medium Tan, and found both shades to match other IT Cosmetics products nicely.

I love the amount of coverage from Bye Bye Breakout Concealer, and that it is buildable. I recommend patting the concealer in layers using a brush like IT Cosmetics’ Heavenly Luxe Dual Airbrush Concealer Brush.

Just to give you an idea of the coverage (though they aren’t designed for the same areas) it’s not quite as pigmented as IT Cosmetics’ Bye Bye Undereye Concealer (my HG concealer), but the Bye Bye Breakout Concealer can still be considered full coverage.

The formula wore well all day and had a beautiful natural look to it.

The adorable jar does *seem* small for the price, but it actually holds 0.35oz, which is actually more product than you’ll get in most liquid concealers.

IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Breakout Powder (available here for $28) is designed to give your complexion an airbrushed appearance, combat shine and also treat acne.

It’s available in three shades: Translucent, Light/Medium and Tan/Deep.

I tried the Translucent and Light Medium shades.

Both have a beautifully silky, finely milled texture that applied like a dream.

The Light/Medium and Tan/Deep shades both have buildable coverage, but these two tend to run a little dark compared most of the IT Cosmetics products that I’ve tried (I’m usually right in between “Light” and “Medium”, and have found that their shades are usually very consistent between products).

However, the Translucent Breakout Powder is perfection in a jar–I LOVE how it looks on my skin, both to set my foundation and on its own.

And it keeps my skin looking good all day long! It’s now my go-to setting powder.

Conclusion: IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Breakout Concealer & Powder

Overall, I’m really happy with the Bye Bye Breakout Concealer and the Bye Bye Breakout Powder.

I loved how these products make my skin look and feel, and I love the variety of ingredients to fight aging and acne. Both are total knockouts in my book!

  1. I’m intrigued by this. Did you notice a difference with your acne?

  2. As someone who still gets the occasional blemish, this concealer is amazing! I got to try out the Fair shade, which is an excellent match for my very pale skin. This concealer is full-coverage AND buildable AND lightweight, so it never seems to appear cakey on me, even when I am caking it on. It also manages to completely conceal any redness, so if you get angry breakouts, you will love this product! I find the best application is to use a concealer brush and take the TEENSIEST dab and then gently PRESS it in. If it’s a tenacious blemish, let the first “coat” dry and then add another tiny dab/repeat and then set with powder. I’m not sure if this cleared up my blemishes much faster, as I have a skincare regimen that also involves products that clear breakouts quickly, but I do know that I feel better applying a product over blemishes that contains ingredients that will also help heal them. This is a must-have for anybody who has “problem” skin!
